Ch.2 Intuders

Alpha, Beta and most of the early boarder dogs were already at the scene. Flick and I bolt to the gathering of dogs.
"What makes you wander into my territory?"Alpha firmly questions
A muscular brown labrador steps forward.
"We are looking to merge with your pack"the labrador answers
One male stands beside there leader standing up straight trying to impress my alpha.
"And why do you think your worthy enough?"Asked Alpha
"I think I'm worthy because I'm a strong fighter with an excellent nose to track down intruders and prey" announces the labrador.
"I also have a keen nose"replied a Australian cattle dog.
"Ok.. What are your names?"asked Alpha.
"I'm Buzz"announced the labrador.
"And I'm Shadow"remarked the Australian cattle dog.
"Well ok Buzz your duty is to go on hunts with Breeze, Flick and Raven as for you Shadow your on boarder watch with Stone, Bolt, Shine and Stride you will pick up on the rest of our ways "Ordered Alpha
The two new dogs trot along side Beta discussing Alphas ways. I sit down and watch Alpha as he Scales small hill to announce something.
"Who's up for some races?"declared Alpha
Every one yips with excitement and I wander to the start of the plains to line up and race. Me vs Breeze and Flick didn't seem like a far race Breeze basically had this already won.

"Ready?, Set?, GO!"barked Alpha
Sprinting across the plains I'm side by side Breeze only for a second as she bolts of in front of me using all her energy on betting me. We have been very close even best friends since energetic pups. I catch up with Breeze striding side by side we race leaving Flick far behind in our dust. Swiftly we turn around I bolt using all my energy, just noticing Breeze was nowhere near me I panic where is she? So close to the finish line I keep pounding along crossing the line shortly after me comes Breeze we both fall down. She was in shock. I have never bet her, in anything!
"How?" We both mutter
Flick jumps over are sweating tired bodes landing with a roll behind us
"I bet you! I...I can't believe it!" I excitedly mutter
Suddenly been struck with energy I leap to my feet.
"After a few more races can you fetch the pack some fish for the prey circle shouldn't be so hard"asked Alpha
Giving him a nod, me and Breeze head to the shade to cool down and watch

The sun was over mid way across the sky I wake from my sleep and nudge sleeping Breeze then start trotting down to the lake, I already see jumping fish in the distance. I hop down the sand bank and scan the calm blue water a large school of fish swim in the shallows we both place one paw in the water and get ready to swipe them out onto the sand. Three, four then seven fish were caught throughout the afternoon. The sun was now setting and vibrant colours were seen in the sky. It was a full moon. We put our catch in a pile in the prey sharing circle and trot to the foot of the small rocky hill and wait for Alpha to howl so we can follow along. Slowly Alpha tilts his head and howls at the moon saying his thanks to the gods who give his pack the ability to gather prey and other good habits that they give us. Personally I don't fully believe in the god dogs but I follow along for my place in the pack. Everyone has tilted there head by now howling in a beautiful melody. Slowly the song came to a stop and every one gathered around the prey pile. Alpha takes one big fish so does Beta then Stone who takes two medium fish to share with me and Breeze. Buzz, Bolt, Shadow,Shine and Stride Devour the remaining three unusually large fish.
"Tomorrow I will assist you one your hunt, Breeze" insists Alpha
"Sure I'll make sure we let you catch the biggest deer!"excitedly replies Breeze as she dashes of to tell her hunt helpers.
"Alpha can I leave your territory and go for a walk?" I question
"Sure Raven, I trust you."He replies

As I Casually trot and weaving through the bushes and long grass I scent rabbit. Yet I'm not hungry so I walk past the creatures I also scent another creature but this time it isn't a fuzzy bunny. Foxes. Cunning, sharp biting, small clawed foxes. No wanting to face many foxes along I sprint home not thinking of the noise or scent I'll leave behind.

Puffed I drop at alphas paws.
"Dirty....f..foxes.."I manage to mumble.
"We're!?, Raven tell me!" Alpha barks
"West, and there's not one, they probably..know I was there I came to.. Tell you as soon as I...I smelt them." I mutter
"Gather the hunters Beta we have to drive them out of our valley!"announces Alpha as he gathers near by dogs
"We have foxes on our paws we must talk or fight to drive them out of our valley!"boomed alpha as he lead the way towards them.
Breeze helps me to get up, we pound along the ground together swiftly catching up to alpha I help lead the way to wards the scent I smelt not ten minutes ago. By the time we got there the sun went down. Every one has puck up the scent.
"Run away out of our valley or face my strong pack!" Shouted alpha
Three, seven then eleven foxes came out of the shadows,
"Oh, God Breeze, no matter what happens I've got your back." I moan
"And I have yours bestie" quietly mutters Breeze
"Get em!" A squeaky voice orders
Taking one by the neck, one down two fly at me one taken down in mid air by Breeze. Ones attached itself to my flank. Quickly kicked of leaving it with an head injury. I swiftly go to the aid of Stride that's surrounded by the fuzzy creatures a quickly kick and bite them leaving Stride to face one of. To my horror the remaining three foxes were drowning Alpha with bites and scratches patting one down the other two are taken out in the blink of an eye by Beta. Most of us went unharmed Alpha got many scratches I got one bite and stone got an deep bite make to his left back leg.
"It must have taken a ambitious leader to try pull that of"Alpha laughs
