Some say that promises were made to be broken. And some say that patience is a virtue. One of these statements may be true depending on the situation and the person you made the promise with. But, it's up to you to find out which of these two statements you believe to be true or false.

"Well, here we are." He said with a bright smile on his face as he wrapped you up in a tight bear hug. You grunted in pain from his tight hold before chuckling at his adorableness. You let him go to allow him to say his goodbyes to his parents.

"We're so proud of you, our son." His parents teared up as their eldest son bowed to them and made promises to make them proud. He thanked his parents and gave each of them a kiss. He turned to his young siblings and gave them tearful kisses and hugs. After a couple of minutes of reassuring his family, he turned around to talk to yours.

He bowed to your parents to thank them for helping him through hard times and for their love. After his goodbyes with your parents, it was your turn. And you felt the dread building up in your stomach because this was going to be the last time to see his smile in person. The only smile reserved for you and now he will have to share it with others.

He turned his beaming smile at you and you took the time to focus on his face and voice. It will be a long time before you can see or hear him in person again so might as well try to remember everything.

He stared at you for the longest time before quickly taking you in his arms again. You felt him trembling, but he wasn't letting any tears escape his eyes. He was always good at hiding his true emotions, however he could never hide them well enough from you. He was trying to stay strong for everyone- including himself.

"I haven't forgot our promise!" He said quietly in your ear as he held you tightly. You felt his heartbeat thump wildly against your chest as you embraced his warmth.  You let out a weak sniffle, but tried to cover it up as allergies. You almost didn't let go until you heard his train starting to depart. He quickly lets you go and gave you a sheepish smile before running towards the train to Seoul. You let out a weak chuckle. That boy is always  late to important events. I guess old habits die hard.

You felt your tears brimming in your eyes, but you held them back because you knew that if Taehyung saw them he would run back to you.

"I love you all, and I promise I will come back and make you proud!" He shouted one last before jumping in through the closing doors. He made in the train just in time and you could only shake your head at his silliness.

"Idiot, you better!" You mutter under your breath as you wiped away your tears furiously.

You watched as the boy you loved for almost your whole life move away before your eyes.

He's going to make it big and he's going to make the world fall in love with his personality, talents, and looks. You just knew it.

.............................................................

It was a hot summer when you met the weirdest boy alive.

You hated the humid, hot summers because your clothes would always stick to your sweaty body, your hair would frizz up, and you were always getting sunburns.

"Ughhh!" You groaned out for the hundredth time, making your older brother sigh in annoyance. You were lying on your front porch and staring up at the ceiling when your older brother kicked your leg lightly.

You lazily move your head towards him to see him handing you money.

"Buy some ice cream. You're being annoying." You groan out and rolled to your side, ignoring him.
