Ch.14 -Research and Development-

A/N: Sorry this is a little short chapter because not much has happened. And allow me to casually slip my birthday  as the date of the diary entry. 

January 6th, 2018

I have never been so confused in my entire life like what the hell is going on. I can't even begin to comprehend what I just learned. So, okay, remember on New Years when Demetrius kissed me but Ace was totally cool with it because he is a and I quote "polygamist". At first the thought hadn't really struck me because I was really fucking angry with Demetrius that I hadn't thought of it. But then it came up into conversation later. I believe I asked him again why he was so cool with Demetrius kissing me and again the word "polygamist" came up. I said ok and later went home to Google that shit. And pulled up some definitions:

Polygamy (from Late Greek πολυγαμία, polygamia, "state of marriage to many spouses" or "frequent marriage")[1][2][3][4] is a marriage which includes more than two partners.[5] When a man is married to more than one wife at a time, the relationship is called polygyny; and when a woman is married to more than one husband at a time, it is called polyandry.

Then I did some more research about it and dug deeper into the subject because it completely baffled me into another diminsion. The rest of the articles on the interwebs was about mariage so I tried to type in the next best thing which was polygamist dating which referred me to the Wikipedia (god bless) article for Polyamory:

Polyamory (from Greek πολύ [poly], meaning "many" or "several", and Latin amor, "love") is the practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved. It is distinct fromswinging (which emphasizes sex with others as merely recreational) and may or may not include polysexuality (attraction towards multiple genders and/or sexes).[2][3][4]

I started to get pissed off a little by this because all this new information was starting to make me question a whole lot. Was my boyfriend having another relationship behind my back? I know it said the consent of everyone but I wasn't so sure about that. I hadn't even know that detail before a couple of days ago. What more could I have not known about him. I didn't want to be the jealous or suspicious type of person so I asked Finn and Jared their opinions on it. Almost in unison they said "you're fucked." Which wasn't really helpful so I just decided to confront him about it. I even was kind enough to show him all the informtion I gathered. Ace didn't even seem like the type of person to do this but then again there's the polygamy thing. I mean, I wasn't even saying that polygamist cheated it was just in my nature to be curious and suspicious.  I had dealt with cheating before and didn't want to go through it again. Once I had finished showing him all this stuff he laughed. I mean he really laughed hard. I was so confused at everything in the world so I waited until he was finished laughing to go "what the actual fuck". He said he would never cheat on me and that the polygamy or polyamory or whatever was just a small detail. Also, that he would never even date another man without my approval. He even gave me the little Scout's honor thing (which was really cute). The suspicions had threw me off in my correct thinking but I still couldn't help the tug at the back of my mind. Did Riley, his ex, know about this? Or were they actually dating again and I just didn't know?
