Ch. 3 ~~ "That idiot!"
RECAP:
"Alana!!!" Miss Hales snapped and I looked at her, she was fuming, "Get with your partner and start planning out when and where you'll meet each other to start your project!"
I stared at her, "What?"
"Start planning out when and where you'll be meeting to start your project," She repeated more calmly.
"Oh. Uh, who's my partner?"
"Didn't you hear a word I said?!" I shook my head, "You're working with Aaron."
"WHAT?!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I looked at Aaron and he was smirking at me, I glared at him and turned to Miss Hales, "No. Freaking. Way."
"Rain..." She started.
"I'm not working with that idiot," I cut in, "He'll ruin my life!!!"
"Rain..."
"Miss Hales, I'd rather fail than work with...with THAT!"
"RAINA!!!" I closed my mouth, shocked, "I didn't choose your partner, Mrs. Brown did so if you have a problem with your partner, talk to her not me."
I nodded and looked at the clock. Great, five, four, three, two... Ring. Ring. Ring.
I grabbed my black backpack and bolted out of the classroom. I jogged to my locker, ignoring Maggie, Nat, and Aaron. I quickly opened my locker, put my backpack in, took out my gym bag and ran to the cafeteria. All seniors had third lunch which was forty minutes before third class was actually over.
I walked in line with a smile and waited two minutes before I ordered my lunch: French fries, a hamburger and a coke. I paid for my lunch and headed over to my usual table. Some of the cheerleaders were there already, well the ones I get along with anyways. We usually go out to eat but this time, we decided for the school food because we needed to discuss some things.
"Hey guys!" I said excitedly, taking my seat between Nat and Maggie.
"Hey, Rain!" Kelly beamed happily.
"Good to see you, R," Andrea smiled.
"Okay," I positioned myself straight, "We need to maybe get four of this tables together so we can all fit in by Thursday."
"Why?" Kayla asked.
"The usual," I shrugged, "We have to sit with the football players to show everyone that we want them to win."
"Oh!" Lilia giggled, "I totally forgot!"
"What?" I asked.
"Aaron was looking for you."
I groaned, "That idiot!"
"Why do you guys hate each other so much?"
I picked a fry from the tray and put it in my mouth, "Sorry, I'm hungry."
"She's avoiding the question," Ashley giggled.
I rolled my eyes at her and ignored them. I ate my fries silently then ate half of my hamburger and threw my tray away. I cleaned my mouth and hand with the napkin and tossed it in the trash.
Something hit the back of my head and I looked towards the football players table. My gaze met Aaron's and he smirked. I raised an eyebrow and looked at the ground, the pencil was lying there, then looked back up at him.
"What the hell?!" I snapped.
"Sorry," He laughed.
"Idiot," I muttered and turned back to my table.
"Rain," I looked at Nat, "Are you okay?"
I nodded, "Fin...Oh, my fucking shit!!"
I touched the back of my head and groaned in pain.
Aaron was so fucking dead now!
I stood up and walked over to the football players table, right behind Aaron. He noticed me and asked, "How can I help you, Rain?"
I smacked the back of his head really hard and said, "Just because you're the fucking quarterback doesn't mean you're better than everyone!"
He looked at me, "Oh. Grumpy, are we? You woke up on the wrong side of the bed today?"
I slapped him and screamed, "You're a fucking jerk!!!! Leave me the hell alone!"
With that, I walked out of the cafeteria, grabbing my coke and gym bag on the way then headed straight to gym class.
I pushed the double doors open making them slam hard against the wall and went straight to the girls locker room. Today was SOOO NOT my day.
It. Sucks. A. Lot.
I opened my locker in the girls locker room and put my gym bag inside after I took out my gray sweats and white shirt. I closed and locked the locker then went and changed.
After I finished changing, I grabbed a soccer ball and went back to the gym. I put the ball in front of me, took a step back then I swung my foot at it and kicked it to the wall.
I was taking all of my anger and frustration on the ball that I didn't even notice when students started coming inside. When I heard the bell ring, I almost jumped but forced myself to not by kicking the ball to the wall with all my strength making it hit hard on the wall, fly up, hit the other side of the classroom and fall somewhere in the middle.
I sighed and dropped myself on the floor, getting my breathing back to normal. I ran my fingers through my hair then my face and sighed heavily and shakily. This was so much to handle in a single day.
First, the project. Second, my "partner". Third, Madison and her bitchy crew. Fourth, Aaron and the thing he hit me with on the head and now, my anger.
"What's wrong, Raina?" I heard Madison snicker, "You're pregnant?"
I tensed and closed my eyes tightly then opened them again and called, "Shut the fuck up, you bitch!!!"
I heard her gasp.
"Aaron," She whined loud enough for me to hear, "Aren't you going to defend me, baby?"
"I have things to do," He replied without humor.
"Miss Norfolk, are you okay?" Ms. Morris' panicky voice called across the gym.
"Yeah," I called back, looking up at the ceiling, "I'm fine," I thought for a minute, "On second thought, may I go to the nurse? I have a headache."
"Of course. Grab your stuff and I'll write you a pass."
I smiled and quickly stood up but everything went kind of blurry and I stumbled a little.
"Rain!!!"
"Are you okay?!"
I opened my mouth to answer Maggie's and Nat's questions but I fell on the floor and everything went black.
