I was on edge, every move I made Violet was watching me. I had added my lines myself. I changed into loose shorts and my chest wraps, running down the steps to the training room. I lifted for an hour my arms growing weak before I set down the weights. "You shouldn't lift without a spotter." Violet came around and sat down on my lap. Her hands traced my breast. "I wanted to be alone." She smiled down at me. "I think we should have some fun. Let's go bathe." I pushed her to the ground. "I have things to do." I walked up the steps to my room, taking off the sweaty strips and replacing them with new ones. Violet stood in the door way. "All work and no play I see. When did things change?" She laughed at me. "I will make you number fourteen. Leave me now." I pushed past her to break outside in the damp air. The sun shone brightly. I jogged over to the library, taking my seat under the tree and listening to the lesson drone on. "Did you hear back from the two yet?" Jasper joined me. "Nothing yet. I asume it would be a bit though." He picked at the ground. "We need to consider that Violet is working against us. Since she's been here we have has an influx of sentinels." He spoke softly. "I agree. I will be the one to kill her though. Not now, we still need her though." His eyes avoided mine. "After this this year we won't have school. We need to push this issue further." I shrugged. "After class." He ducked his head down and went back to sit next to Dakoda. I ran my finger over my lines and embraced the memories.

The teacher dismissed us for the day and students flooded out. I tapped Dakoda on the shoulder. "Im going running. We have a lot to talk about when I get back." He nodded af me and began walking to the house. I breathed out, turning my face towards the sun. I ripped my shoes off and ran on the soft moss, each step was dampend.

I ran for an hour before finding my way back to the house and walking inside. Anouk gurgled loudly from her spot on the floor. I lifted her light body into my embrace and skipped steps to get clothing. "Where do you think you are going." I turned away from my dresser to glare at Violet. "It's none of your business." I pushed past her and took the soap from the floor right next to the door on my way out.

I skipped over rocks and set Anouk down on the soft moss next to the lake. I stripped myself and waded into the warm water with the baby on one arm. She gurgled again, her eyes following my fingers as I traced my collar bones. I dipped back, floating on the water and resting the baby on my stomach. "You are striking." Violet sat on the bank. "Fuck off. I do not want you here." I brushed my hand through Anouks soft hair as I spoke. "That is no way to speak to me." Her hand met my back and I twitched, not aware she had gotten into the water. "Don't challenge me Violet. I always win and you will be no exception." I stood in the shallow water and walked to the soap. I scrubbed Anouk down and washed the soap off. I set her down and began washing myself. The sweat and grime came off of me and I shuttered with satisfaction. "You work for me Onyx." Her lips touched my ear. Rage filled my vision and I turned around quickly. I brought my hands to her face and jerked her head around and listened for the snap. Her eyes were stuck in a state of shock and death came over her face. "I work for no one." I pushed the body away from me. I dressed quickly in leggings and a tanktop, picking up the baby and rushing back to the house. "Jasper. Violet won't be a problem anymore. Bring me the ink." Sol ran up to me and took my arm gingerly, putting a line on my skin. "I thought you wanted to keep her around." His arms reached out and took the infant. "She threatened my position." I wiped the extra ink from my skin. Jasper sat in front of me and set Anouk on her stomach. "I have bad news." He paused and rolled his tongue. "Clan leader Clare has....passed. They have replaced her with someone twice as strong they say. Clarke will be taking her position and we expect her here in a few days for her lines."
