Chapter 5~It was a trap

I woke up to the sound of the annoying sound of my alarm clock. I mentally started crying because that means another dreadful day trying to find my uncle. I spot a red dot in the corner of my bedroom, I instantly get curious and jumped up, I walked cautiously towards the red dot, it could be the guys messing around but you can never be sure.

"What's this?" I whispered to myself, there was a card on the table.

"Open if you want to save a life" I read out loud, I opened the card and there was a picture of my dad....in chains and bleeding.

"Who's responsible for this?!" I yelled furiously, I continued reading the card.

"Xoxo gossip girl?" I said confused.

"Just kidding it's Max" I finished reading. I huffed and I ran to my closet trying to find my mission suit, quickly remembering it's in the lab, I walked out of the room.

"Hey Elen-" Clint started speaking but was cut off because I ran past him with my superspeed leaving a gust of wind behind me. Clint looked befuddled, a look on his face that just read "wow".

I arrived at the lab is 2 seconds, digging through everything. Where can it possibly be?

"Looking for something?" Tony said from the door leaning on it. I turned around quickly.

"Umm no, just looking for my makeup pallete" I lied through my teeth.

"Nice try, there's no way I would let your girly stuff get down in my lab, now tell me what's going on". Tony said raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing" I said.

"Looking for this?" Tony said pulling my suit from behind his back. My eyes widened and I supersped to him, he jumped out of the way.

"Hey! Calm down, Clint told me you're in a rush, what's going on?" Tony said standing up from the ground. I kept shut, I don't want to tell them about my father, I have to go by myself.

"Elena!" Tony yelled snapping me out of my daze. I rolled my eyes and used my super speed to quickly grab him by the shirt and slammed him against the wall, I of course made sure I didn't hurt him....that much.

"Tony do not get in my way, give me my suit or else I'll do some things I'll regret." I looked into his eyes. He wasn't scared at all. He just handed me the suit and waited for me to release him.

"I'm sorry" I quickly said before leaving. I walked out the doors of the tower, where am I supposed to begin? I don't know where to start, I pulled out the card again and looked at the picture trying to find a clue. I squinted my eyes and saw a glimpse of my old furniture I used to have before I moved in with The Avengers. I ran to my old house and slammed the door down.

"Max! I know you're here!" I yelled into the house. No one answered, I walked around the house and saw no sight of my dad being tortured.

"No" I whispered out loud, could this possibly be a trap?

"Oh yes Elena." Max laughed, I looked around but Max wasn't here.

"I'm not here Elena but I can see you, watching your every move." Max said with a evil tone.

"Ugh" I grunted and fell over, a burning sensation hit me in the back.

"Oh and I can also hurt you, it's pretty pathetic how you fell for that trap, I thought you were the smarter one out of your brothers, guess I was wrong." I laid limbless on the ground, he shocked me with a bionic ray, it makes me lose the ability to move temporarily.

"Where's my father.." I muttered out, struggling to talk. Only to get an response of Max laughing.

"Dead, I killed my own brother how fun." Max continued to laugh. I started sobbing quietly, he killed all my remaining family, my brothers, my father...I'm the last one. I heard footsteps and I struggled to look up, I saw Max's shoes coming up to me, he leaned down and grabbed my chin in his hand forcing me to look at him.

"I don't want to kill you Elena, I always liked you, expect for your annoying personality trait that you always think to do the right thing for humanity.....join me." He offered thinking I'd join him.

"I would rather go to hell." I spat, he yelled in frustration and kicked me over.

"This is gonna be funny, I'll beat you senseless until you're dead, and you have no defense against yourself."

He punched me in the stomach repeatedly, I refused to give him the satisfaction of hearing my screams. I closed my eyes and got ready for the worst, but it never came because I heard the sound of repulsers and Thor's hammer. It hit Max and he flew across the room.

"Elena I swear to god if you ever pull something like this again, you think I wouldn't follow you after what happened back in the lab?" Tony said in frustration. I was face down in the ground and breathing lightly.

"Tony is she even breathing?" Steve said worrisome. I heard their voices, I'm ready to pass out.

"Hey!" Tony pulled me over and faced my body to his. Tony, Thor and Steve gasped in shock, probably because of my beaten up face and body. I looked at them lazily, my eyes shutting every minute and reopening.

"Elena stay with me." Tony said seeing my struggle to stay awake. My bionics started to glitch out, my body started glowing.

"What is happening?" Thor said confused.

"Max must have hit a nerve that's connected to my bionic chip." I said lightly.

"Guys we need to get moving." Steve said.

"Wait where's Max!?" Tony yelled angrily. He got away.

"We need to get out of here Tony, let's go." Steve said. Tony picked up my beaten up body, he accidentally pressed against a soft part and I groaned in pain. Tony looked down with a painful expression.

"I'm so sorry you got hurt Elena, I should have been here sooner." Tony whispered.

"Tony it wasn't your fault, I was being an idiot to leave like that." I said quietly, he kissed my forehead and left a lingering feeling.

When we got back to the tower, I couldn't keep myself conscious anymore.

"Elena oh my god." Natasha yelled out running to me.

"What happened." Clint said coming over.

"Max lead her into a trap." Steve said straight to the point.

"We need Bruce." Tony said rushed.

"She's having a really hard breathing, she's conscious but she can't keep her eyes open anymore." Bruce said walking in, everyone looked at him weirdly.

"I have her bionic chip tracked, it also gives me her vitals" Bruce explained.

"Put her on the table" Bruce continued speaking, after that everything was mumbles I closed my eyes for good and went to sleep.

A/N----I'm so sorry, I haven't realized I didn't update since August, I have not given up on this book, I want to continue writing this book until it has 20 chapters at least :) please continue giving me ideas for this book, sometimes I get stuck on what to write.
