"Hey, Sam?" Dean pulled out a chair and sat in front of Sam after closing his laptop, almost shutting it on Sam's fingers.
"Uh, yeah, Dean?" Sam leans back, a little annoyed of being interrupted.
"Look" Dean runs a hand down his mouth and scratches at his neck "you notice anything different about Cas lately?"
Sam nods his head slowly. "No?" Castiel had seemed fine yesterday, a little giddy, but fine.
Dean sighs and lays back in his chair.
"Why? Have you?"
Dean leans forward "I d'know, man. He's just...I think he might be sick?"
Sam raises his eyebrows. "Dean." He looks really concerned. "Angels don't get sick." Sam thinks that if anyone's acting weird, it's Dean.
"Oh, come on, don't talk to me like that, Sam. I'm not five, ok? I know that-"
A loud churning noise comes from the bathroom, making them jump, both their heads turning to the door.
"What was that?" Sam asks. It sounded like Cas was vomiting. Cas doesn't vomit? He doesn't even eat.
"Cas, he's been there all morning. Call it what you want, but Cas is just...there's something wrong, sick or not. He's a strange guy, but this...it's just straight up weird."
"What are you talking about, Dean?"
Castiel comes out of the bathroom, practically tripping on his own feet, barely standing right. His hair is sticking to the edges of his forehead with sweat and his eyes have purple all around them. As if that wasn't alarming enough, Cas had the biggest toothy smile of his that Sam's ever seen. He seemed too happy to be in pain, but looked too sick to be smiling. Could he really be sick?
His eyes are locked on Dean.
"That" Dean says to Sam, standing up and walking to Castiel.
"Cas?" Sam calls from his seat, not sure whether to run him to a hospital or congratulate him on whatever he's smiling so much about.
Castiel keeps his eyes on Dean.
Dean puts a hand on his shoulder, "Hey? Cas, buddy? You alright there?"
Castiel's toothy smile closes and he takes a deep breath in, pulling Dean into a tight hug and closing his eyes. He wrapped an arm around Deans neck and another around his waist, and swayed a little to the sides.
Sam can see the ghost of a smile on Dean's lips as he awkwardly pats on Castiel's back, and after a few, lets his hands lay still on Cas, returning his hug.
"Yeah, okay." Dean chuckles, and quickly tries to hide his smile, but Sam knows Dean can't help himself. "Cas, come on, you're worrying us here. What's going on?"
"I am pregnant, Dean." Castiel says, and the air goes cold. Sam shifts uncomfortably in his seat. What?
Dean jumps back and keeps two hands on each of Castiel's shoulders. "Your what?"
Castiel smiles, teeth and all, and let his hands drop by his sides. "We are parents, Dean."
Dean's whole face goes red.
Sam takes a deep breath through his nose. Oh.
He clears his throat, trying not to choke on the rooms tension and letting them know he's still here.
Castiel finally takes a look at Sam, but just for a second. His eyes go straight back to Dean.
Dean draws his hands back and looks at the floor.
"Angels can get pregnant?" Sam asks, breaking the ice, and they both look at him.
"Yes." Castiel nods.
"And Dean is the father?"
"And Dean is the father." Castiel confirms.
Dean looks everywhere but Sam.
Sam knew there was something there, but he had no idea it had gone that far. "So, you guys...?" Sam points a suggestive hand between them.
"Shut it, Sam"
"Congratulations?"
"Thank you." Castiel holds Dean's hand, and Dean, with a little hesitation, let's Castiel link their fingers together.
Sam laughs at Dean's embarrassment. He's not letting Dean hear the end of it. "Hey, Dean?"
Dean groans, then looks at Sam, defeated. "What?"
"What do you think of Samuel?"
Dean groans again.
"We will look into naming it after you, Sam." Castiel says.
Sam smiles "Samuel the third?" Dean makes an annoyed noise again and looks down, but Sam sees that small smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
Sam can't help but smile back at them. He knows that Deans happy. He knows how bad Dean's always wanted a kid.
This one might come with wings and a weird personality but hey, so did Cas. And Dean loves him anyway.
