Ash Ketchum stared at Serena Yvonne's grave, tears dripping from his eyes. Suddenly, he collapsed, the memories and thoughts in his head swimming together. But one stood out. The last kiss she had given him before she died, sacrificing herself to Team Flare. To save the world. Her piercing scream of agony echoed in his head.
"Why did you have to leave us Sere?!?" He wept, shedding tears of loneliness, anger, and sadness. "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE US WHEN WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH?!? I LOVE YOU SERENA, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE ME?!?!"
"I'm so sorry Ash..." a voice whispered.

Serena stared sadly at her lover, her own ghostly tears dripping from her delicate face.
"I'm sorry Ash," she whispered again," I'm sorry I'm not there for you when you need me, I'm sorry that I left you, I'm sorry that you are alone. I wish I can be there for you."
She lay in front of her lover, reaching her hand out to touch the raven-haired boy.
Alas, since she was dead, her hand passed through him, and she wept harder in anger, for the unfairness of it. "I'M SO SORRY ASH! THIS IS SO UNFAIR! I WANT TO LOVE YOU!"
Ash looked up. "Serena?" he whispered, his eyes searching for his dead lover.
"Ash?" Serena whispered, her breath hitching.

The one with the prettiest of views
It's got mountains, it's got rivers, it's got sights to give you shivers
But it sure would be prettier with you
"I hear you Serena," Ash whispered, his voice quivering. Broken.
"I'm sorry Ash," Serena whispered,"I'm sorry I left you. I'm really sorry, but I did it for the world."
"The world?" Ash asked.
"My world is you..." Serena murmured, tears filling her eyes.

"Thank you for laying me where I asked you to..." Serena murmured.
{Flashback}
A younger version of Serena looked at Ash.
The gang was in Grace's car, driving to Serena's house.
"Ash?" Serena asked.
"Yes?" Ash replied.
"When I die Ash, please lay me down where we first met, where the flowers call me home," Serena whispered.
Ash blinked. "BAKA!" He nearly yelled.
Serena blinked at him, confused. "What?"
"YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DIE!" Ash yelled.
"Eventually..." Serena murmured.
Ash turned away.
I can't bear for my one true love to leave me in this world alone, he thought.
{Flashback ends}
Ash sobbed.
"I can't bear to be alone Serena," he murmured, his voice breaking.
"You won't be alone," Serena said sternly.
"Yes I will," Ash sighed,"I only love you. My greatest wish on Earth now is to kill myself off and join you in the next world."
Serena blinked. "BAKA! YOU HAVE A LIFE IN FRONT OF YOU! YOU CAN AT LEAST TRY TO LOVE SOMEONE!"
Ash looked at her, his gaze filled with tears. "I'm sorry Serena, I'll try to be better."
"Good," Serena sighed, and blew a ghostly kiss toward Ash.
She looked at him love filled in her gaze, turned, and walked away towards the heavens.
Ash looked after her, his gaze filled with love.
For he would never forget her.

"Grandpa Ash!" a voice yelled.
Ash blinked.
"Yes, Red?" he asked gently.
"Grandma Misty baked cookies for us." Red giggled.
As Red lead the elder off, Ash bid one last glance at the sky.
"I'll be waiting for you..." a voice whispered.
