I skateboarded my way to school. I parked it outside the school and ran to the class excitedly. I needed to tell the band this exciting news!!

Tomika: Guess what guys?!

The bandmily looked at me with curiosity. They weren't practicing yet so that's good.

Tomika: My parents are opening a Café today!!

They all ran to me especially Mr. Finn.

Mr Finn: A Café?!! Awesome, I think the whole class should go there today.

Lawrence: Definitely

Freddy: Can we go right now? I'm starving

Summer: Woah, woah, woah... I've gotta see our schedule for today.

Summer: We have time to go to the café!!

Principal Mullins opened the door slightly.

Principal Mullins: Excuse me, class, but I have some announcements to say. Everyone in Travis Prep has to join a duet singing competition. Since most of you are really shy, I thought that a singing competition would be a great idea. So, I paired you off into pairs. This was supposed to be individually, but since some of you are still really shy, then I decided to have you paired with someone your comfortable with. Oh and this is a boy paired with a girl so you could sing friendship songs, romance songs, etc. I will now announce the partners.

All students were crowded at the bulletin board looking at the list. I didn't really care that much. Wait, who was my partner again?

Oh yeah, Freddy..

WAIT ITS FREDDY!!

He was my crush back at kindergarten, but people change. Besides, all he cares about is his hair.

Summer: I know, but you still like him

I looked at Summer who just read my mind

Summer: a mind reader? Tomika, you're an open book.. that and you said it out loud

Summer: Don't worry, I was the only one who heard you.

I sighed in relief.

Summer: Oh.. and he doesn't just care about his hair, he cares about his crush, too..

She walked away.

Freddy has a CRUSH?? WHAT?!! WHEN?! HOW?! WHY?! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WHO?!

I looked at him suspiciously, not long before he notices.

Freddy: Hey Tomika! Want to talk about it at your new café today?

Tomika: Sure

I bet his crush is either Kale or Summer. Kale because they shared a locker and Summer because she told me that he has a crush.

I said goodbye to my friends at school who asked for my number. Weird for you Normal to me.

I saw Tomika getting her skateboard outside and ran to her.

There she is..

The girl who gets me, Why? She's the girl who loves skateboarding as much as I do, she's the girl who watches the same movies I do. She's the girl who hit me with her dodgeball when Mr. Finn first arrived to Travis Prep, the girl who I've had a crush on since kindergarten. That's Tomika, and I love her as much as you love food.

Freddy: Hey Tomika, wanna start on our project thingy?

Tomika she faced me with her helmet on. Gosh, she's beautiful.

Tomika: I guess so, did you bring your skateboard?

Freddy: Yep

Tomika: Wanna race there?

Freddy: But I don't know where your café is

Tomika: Don't worry, just follow me

Freddy: I see how this is going..

Tomika: Bye!

Tomika: You just can't accept the fact that I won and you lost.. to a GIRL

Tomika: You coming or what?

I say holding the door open. Freddy got in while mumbling some stuff I didnt care about.

We got a table for two and ordered our snacks.

The snacks arrived to our table, well, to me first. I grabbed a honeybun.

Tomika: Honeybun?

Freddy: Yes?

Tomika: Umm.. I-I meant would you like one.

Freddy: O-oh, uhh.. Sure.

Awkward

I passed him the honeybun

We blushed a dark shade of red.

Freddy

Danggit Freddy!! Of course she would never call you honeybun! Don't be so assuming.

I took a sip of my warm milk and noticed it lacked some honey. I excused myself from the table and asked for some honey. After getting the honey, I poured some on my milk.

Freddy: Honey?

Tomika: Uhu?

Freddy: I-I meant do you want some for your milk.

Tomika: Oh, um. N-no thanks..

Let's just say we both blushed like we've never before.
