It was around that time of year again, all the pretty lights have all been strung up with care and the tree in the middle of town has been decorated beautifully. I just finished stringing up the lights in my own room. I always loved Christmas, how you're able to sit in front of the fire and drink hot chocolate, and of course getting gifts from family and friends and that one gift from that special someone, but for me I don't get a gift from that one person.

I sigh when I think I'm going to spend another Christmas alone in the romance department. I hear a knock on my bedroom door and mostly I know who it is.

"It's open."

My best friend Zera comes in, looking cold and a bit wet from the snow falling outside. She takes her hood off and slips her feet out of her shoes. She flops on my bed and lets out a heavy sigh, and I can't help but laugh a little.

"Zera, you okay?"

"No, it's so cold outside and I'm so tired from shopping in the crowds of people."

"Well Christmas is in two days."

She groans at me and rolls her eyes. I go over to my closet and grab some boots to wear. I don't love wearing shoes, but I also want to keep my toes when I go outside so I grin and bear it today. Once there on I go to Zera and poke her side which in responses she swats my hand away.

"Come on you promise you help me get one more present."

"Get it yourself, I'm to tired."

"I can't you know I need help with this one. Please Zera."

She looks at me with a smirk and I give her a shaky smile. Zera know that this present need to be perfect for someone that I happen to have a very big crush on. I start blushing when I think about him and she takes this time to point out how red my face is getting.

"Is it warm in here Mavis?" she says sarcastically

"N-No, just come on." I grab my coat and head out of my bedroom, trying to find my face from her. I hear her laugh and shut the door behind her.

We go from shop to shop and find nothing, and I'm starting to get worried. What if I can't find him anything good, what if I do find something and he hates it. I'm starting to stews myself out from thinking about this to much, but I can't help it. Zera and I go into a art supplie story. I see everything you need sketches to canvases. The old man greats us with a smile and I go off to see what I can find.

"Why did we come in here?" Zera whines.

"I know he likes to draw, so maybe I can get him a sketch book."

"Alright, I'll good look for some pencils on the other side."

I nod my head at her and go to look for some sketch book. I browse the different sizes and how many sheets of paper each on has. As I look around I hear the bell above the door chime and the old man start talking to someone. I peek around the corner and almost have a heart attack.

"Hello Zeref, back again I see."

"Yeah, need to get some more supplies for my picture I'm drawing."

I see him smile at the old man, and my own heart starts to pick up, and my face starts to get warm. I completely forget I was looking at him, and by the time I releases it he sees me and starts coming over to me. I stand up straight and fix my hair, before he's standing right in front of me.

"Mavis, hey it's good to see you."

"It's good to see you too Zeref."

"What are you doing in here?"
