Beautiful nightmare

Bestest friend

Lea just finished a meeting and is on her way to another one. She feels so exhausted; she just wanted the day to end. She got inside her car and to her luck, the engine failed. Her car just won't start.

"Need help?" she startled in surprise. She almost had a heart attack. She calmed herself, breathed in and out before checking who the heck did that.

And to her so much luck that day, she saw Aga looking at her. She rolled her eyes before going out of the car. Mangungulit na naman 'tong lecheng to.

"Ano na naman bang ginagawa mo dito? Stalker mode ka na naman." Aga smiled at her. But there seems to be something wrong. His smile just won't reach his eyes.

"Are you okay?" she asked him, worried. She then touched his left cheek. He reached for her hand, rubbed it and smiled faintly.

"Driver mo ako today. Mukhang sira yung kotse mo eh." He reached for her things and held her hand still while walking towards his car.

"Pampalubag-loob na rin para sa pagtulong mo sa kasal ko." She sighed. She knows he just won't tell her what's going on.

She's on the passenger seat, reading, when he called her name.

"Hmm?"

"Kumain ka na ba?" –Aga

"Hindi pa. Pero mamaya na kasi I still have a meeting in –"she looked at her Philip stein watch and continued. "I have a meeting in 20 minutes. Kaya pakibilisan, boss. Urgent kasi."

After a while, she felt the car stopped. "Why are we stopped? Sabi ko nagmamadali tayo."

She continued reading, waiting for his response. But when she didn't get any, she looked at him: her glasses almost at the tip of her nose.

He stopped at a drive thru for food. He pushed her glasses up and handed her her favorite and continued driving.

"Hindi ka makakapagtrabaho ng maayos kung walang laman yang tiyan mo."

Lea attended four meetings in one day and she is just to finish the last one.

"Sir, what you did is ex-parte communication. It voids any trans—"

"I don't care! It doesn't matter! I am taking the plea deal and as my lawyer, you have to work on that!"

And with that, her client left her. She doesn't plan to lose any of her cases but sometimes her clients just won't allow the plan to work.

What a stupid idiot. Admits a crime he didn't commit to save his girlfriend. Well, who am I to judge? Siguro nga that's what love can do.

Wait, what?! Yuck! I am too stressed that I say such things.

She shook her head with her thoughts, decided to just fix her things and go home. When she opened Aga's car door, she found him peacefully sleeping.

What a great view to relax yourself to. She smiled and drowned herself with the serenity the view offers her. But there's just this emotion strewed across his face. She's not sure if it's sadness or anxiety.

"Ags.." she woke him up the way she always does: making their noses touch while pinching his cheeks lightly.

"Hi.." he greeted her with that manly voice of him. She smiled and got her seatbelt on.

"Kanina ka pa tapos?" he asked with his husky voice on while trying to regain his full consciousness.

"Tulo laway ka pa rin." She giggled, wiped the side of his lips with some tissue then got back on her seat.

"Ang tagal mo kasi, nakatulog tuloy ako."

"Ang hirap kausap nung last client ko eh."

"Ah. Uwi na kita?" she glanced at him then wrinkled her forehead. Hindi yata s'ya makulit ngayon?

"Lei? Uuwi ka na ba o may dadaanan ka pa?" he asked as he started the engine. She smiled then mouthed home.

Lea woke up with the feeling of comfy on her bed. She checked the time and saw that it's just fifteen before midnight.

Paano nga ako ulit napunta sa kama ko?

She remembered falling asleep at Aga's car. She roam her eyes around and saw Aga in her living room, watching. She smiled and went out to join him.

"Kumain ka na ba?" she asked leaning her head on his shoulder.

"Nagpadeliver ako. Naghihirap ka na ba? Bakit walang stocks sa ref mo?"

She chuckled. "Wala na akong time mamili. Tsaka di ka pa kaya nagbabayad ng professional fee ko! With extra charges yun ah!"

He chuckled and hugged her through her shoulder making her head rest on his chest.

"Pinakialaman mo na naman yung suot ko." She uttered hugging him back. He glanced at her and pinched her nose.

"Tinanggal ko lang yung blazers mo."

"Pati palda ko." She frowned, he smiled.

"Oversized naman yan polo mo eh: kasya na nga sa akin. Tsaka naka-shorts ka naman. Sexy nga eh." She pinched his side but he didn't complain.

"It's true. You look sexy in an oversized clothe." She remained silent to contain her blushing. He always make her blush, always. After a while, she spoke.

"Ags?"

"Hmm?"

"May problema ka ba?" he didn't answer and continued watching instead. Lea poked his side.

"Kailan ko ba makikita yung fiancée mo? Isang buong linggo na akong stressed sa kasal n'yo tas ni anino n'ya di ko pa nakikita."

He sighed: the one he does when he's frustrated. She knew he needs her.

"Yun na nga eh. Three weeks before the wedding, puro s'ya Ikaw na bahala, kaya mo na yan." Another heavy breath escaped his lips.

"Makes me feel like ako lang may gusto na ikasal kami."

"Hey." She touched his face and made him look at her.

"Do you love her?" he nodded weakly. "Then you should learn to trust her, okay? Lalo na magsasama na kayo nyan."

He smiled a small one. He hugged her so tight she almost can't breathe. That's all it took her to make him feel better.

"Thank you. You're the bestest friend ever, Lea." she chuckled.

"You are too, Ags."
