The daughter of Artemis

Chapter 1: The baby girl

It was completly silent. Artemis walked akross the field with her hunters right behind her. The three Cycklops a few hundred meeters away was completly oblivious of the hunters arrivle. Artemis held up her hand for a few moments and then closed it. In a few secounds they all had arrows out their chests and the remains was golden dust on the ground.

The hunters sat up a camp for the night where the cycklops had been.
"The werewolf is near." Artemis said to one of her most trusted hunters; Thalia.
"So have I noticed." She answered while looking out of the tent they were in.
"They'll be here tomorrow; latest." Artemis said looking at Thaila, but she was still silent.
"Maybe we'll have to fight tonight." She continued. Thalia looked back at Artemis and turned around again.
"I belive we have to fight tonight." Thalia answered and looked out of the tent.
"He's here."

Artemis and Thalia walked out of the tent to find the hunters and their wolfs in fighting posision against other red-eyed wolfs and a big partly wolf partly man.
"It was not wise of you to come here today, Lycaon." Artemis said to the werewolf.
"I do belive it was queen Artemis." He answered mockinly.
"I belive you would want this." He said reaching behind his back and coming back again with a babygirl with short black hair, she could not be more than three or four months. She was crying.
"Do not touch the girl." Artemis said venoumsly.
"To do or not to do, isn't that the question?" Lycaon said with a mad grin. Then he slightly touched the girls cheek with one of his claws. One drop of blood took it's tour towards her chin. The girl stopped crying for a secound and looked at the wolf. Then she quietly wiped the blood of her cheek and took one of her little hands inside her clothes. She smiled at Artemis, a sad smile that said it was okay if she died under this battle. How could a babygirl be so smart? Artemis wondered before she attacked.

The fear lighted up Lycaons eyes when Artemis had an arrow pointed against his througt.
"We s-still have the girl." He stammered to the huntress and pointed at one of his wolfs, it had the baby girls clothes between his teeth.
"I-if you let me loose, I'll give y-you the baby." Artemis looked at the werewolf knowing that he was trapped.
"What about this; if you give me the girl, I'll let you loose?" She answered instead.
"Only if you swear on the river of styx." Artemis growled with frustration before saying the words.
"I swear on the river of styx." Artemis looked at the other wolf as it came nearer and dropped the girl in Thalias hands.
"Now: make all your 'friends' retret." Artemis said, Lycaons looked at her knowing that it was for the best so he did what she told. And she let him loose.
"I'll get you Artemis. You, your hunters... and that girl." He said with gritted teeth. Then he runned into the woods.

"What should we do with her?" Thalia asked, she would take care of her if she did not hunt, but she was not about to loose another baby!
"I'll take her in as my own." Artemis said, looking down at the baby in her arms. It had bright grey eyes and black hair. She could see that she was going to be a beutifull woman one day. Artemis knew there and then that she would have to let her go when se got older, if she was a demigod. But how had Lycaons got the girl, and why had he come to Artemis with it? She wondered.
Thalia nodded, probobly liking the idea and walked away.

"I'll take care of you girl. Your name shall be Aysel; for moonlight. Aysel, the very first daughter of Artemis"
