To his mother and father he was a prince. True he had no title nor crown nor castle, but he was the ruler of his own little kingdom whose borders were the house in the meadow on the forest's edge where his people had lived for generations. With Mr. Goose, and all their animal family.

Sonic is now 10 years old. He is feeding the animals in the garden.

Sonic: Hello, there. What do you think you're doing? Let the little ones have their share. We don't want you getting an upset stomach. Oh, Plagg, you're a house kwami not a garden kwami. Isn't he, Tikki? And you mustn't eat Mr. Goose's food. Isn't that right, daddy?

Splinter: Do you still believe that they understand you?

Sonic: Don't they, father?

Splinter: Oh, yes. I believe that animals listen and speak to us if we only have the ear for it. That's how we learn to look after them.

Sonic: Who looks after us?

Splinter: Fairy Godmother's, of course.

Sonic: And do you believe in them?

Splinter: I believe in everything.

Sonic: Then I believe in everything too.

His mother was a merchant who went abroad and brought a tribute back from all of Sonic's subject lands.

Celestia: Sonic! Where are my boys?! Where are my darlings?!

Sonic: Mommy!

Sonic run to his mother and hugs her. He missed her terribly when she was away, but he knew she would always return.

Celestia: What a big boy you are!

Sonic: Hey! What is this?

Celestia is holding a box.

Celestia: Oh, this. I found it hanging on a tree. I think there may be something inside.

She open the box. In the box there was butterfly ornament.

Sonic: Wow.

Celestia: In French that is un papillon.

Sonic: Un papillon.

Celestia: Très bien! Voulez vous danser avec moi, monsieur?

Sonic: Mm-hmm. Oui.

Celestia: Merci beaucoup.

Sonic hugs her.

All was just as it should be. They knew themselves to be the most happier families to live as they did and to love each other so. But sorrow can come to any kingdom, no matter how happy.

That night. Sonic sleep. Celestia and Splinter leave his room but suddenly Splinter faint.

Celestia: Oh dear! Are you okay?!
