"...Can you hear me?"

"Jessica?"

"...Jess!"

My eyes burst open at the sight of tons of people hovering over me. My stomach was stinging and I felt weak. What happened? Who are these people?

Oh, right, my family.

Everything seems foggy.

A boy with thick brown hair runs in. "Is she okay? What happened? I heard she swallowed pills," he said, his voice

cracking numerous times.

My chest swelled when I saw him and immediately remembered him. Louis. "Pills?" I croaked.

Everyone murmured silently. "Pills?" I repeated.

My mom looked at my dad. "You tried to kill yourself. I don't know why. Please don't ever do it again."

I felt myself grow sad. I knew I was suicidal but I don't remember anything. I tried to move my legs up to my chest but they remained stiff. I tried again and again to force them to move but nothing happened. "What happened to my legs?" I asked. A headache all of a sudden seized my brain and I groaned.

"I'll explain everything later, ok?" my sister said.

I nodded, holding my forehead. Everyone but Louis leaves.

"Lou?"

"What is it? I'll do anything, Jess."

Louis sat down next to me in the hospital. I finally realized I was in a blue gown, I had no bra on, and a monitor was next to me. Louis' beautiful blue eyes gleamed into my sore brown ones, which I believed were red, and he let a tear fall off his face. "I'm sorry. It'll get better." he almost whispered.

Louis was always a good... friend. I had known him since first grade. His fingers moved a lock of my hair across my face and underneath my ear. I didn't care, I just wanted some form of compassion from someone. That was me, selfish. He grasped my hand and played with my fingers. I felt my headache slowly try to go away, after staring at the ceiling and blurring my vision. The hospital lights burned my eyes. I closed my eyes and opened them back up at Louis. He was still smiling. "I will always be here for you."

Then a sensation I will never forget followed me. His tear stained face slowly leaned into me as he connected our lips. Not thinking, I kissed him back. I felt him breathe into me, and a few seconds later he broke the kiss. I smiled a short grin and he looked like he could cry again. My head burst into pain again and I held it tightly. "It's ok, you'll be ok." He said, stroking my brown hair.

"Louis,"

"What?"

"I..."
