Scrolling through Twitter, all you saw were various pictures of him kissing her. They weren't just the same photo, either. So, it wasn't as if it was an accident. All the pictures were of him and her at the mall, him and her at the park, him and her holding hands, him and her kissing at a fancy restaurant, and so on. All the tweets you were receiving were along the lines of:

"Look how much happier he is."

"She's so much prettier than Y/N."

"Y/N doesn't deserve Ash, he's better off without her."

"Ash is so happy with this other girl."

They just went on and on. They wouldn't stop. You were crying at this point, and you didn't even hear the door open. Ashton stepped into the family room and saw you curled up into a ball, sobbing. He ran over to try and comfort you, but all you did was push him away.

"What's wrong, Y/N? Why are you so upset? What happened?"

You couldn't answer him; all you did was show him your phone. As he scrolled through what caused you so much pain, he backed up a little.

"Y/N I. I uh..."

"Save it." You cut him off, suddenly gaining confidence. "Who are you, Ashton? What the hell happened to my boyfriend, my best friend? It's like I don't even know you anymore."

"Y/N listen to me..."

"No! I'm done. I'm done with your shit. This has happened before and you promised it would stop. You said that 'oh you needed company and she wasn't anything compared to me and blah blah blah!' I'm fucking done!"

"You won't even let me explain!"

"Why should I? It's the same fucking thing all the time!"

"You know what? Call me when you're done being an asshole Y/N. Actually, you know what? Don't. Goodbye."

With that, Ashton walked out of your life forever. You wanted to get over him, but you couldn't. You knew what he did was wrong; you knew that he had cheated on you multiple times and that was the last straw. But, a part of you wouldn't let go of him.

You kept in touch with the other boys for a little while. They would call you up, making sure that you were okay. They were on your side with this, and they knew what Ashton did was wrong. Apparently Ashton hasn't spoken to the boys in two weeks, since you guys broke up.

You looked down, trying not to cry. You looked at the thing in you hand, and then you looked at the others on the sink edge. This couldn't be happening. You shook your head in disbelief. There was one thing you dreaded doing, but you knew you had to. You walked out of your bathroom and entered your room. Grabbing your phone, you dialed Calum's number, knowing Ashton wouldn't answer his phone if you called him. You took a deep breath as the dial tone rang.

"Hey Y/N!" Calum chirped into the phone

"Hey Calum. I um," you cleared your throat before you went on, trying to sound better than you were. "Uh. Is Ashton there? I kind of really need to talk to him."

"Y/N... Are you sure you should be talking to him? I'm just trying to look out for you."

"I know, Calum. I wouldn't be calling... It's just, this is really important. Is he there? I understand your concern, but I need to talk to him."

I heard Calum sigh on the other end and he muttered a 'one-moment.' There was a little shuffling and I heard some talking. Soon, Ashton was on the phone.

"Y/N?" He sounded confused, as if why the hell would you be calling him? It sounded nice to hear his voice again. Even if it had only been two weeks, you missed him like crazy.

"Hi. Ashton - I um, I'm sorry for calling. It's just. I needed to tell you something. I know we dated for a while, so I thought it would be important to tell you... Um. Dammit how do I say this?" You muttered the last sentence trying to find the words to say.

"If you're saying what I think you're saying, I would just like to say it's okay. I'm seeing someone, too. You didn't have to tell me. I'm not your boyfriend anymore, and I kind of took it as we weren't friends anymore."

You were heart broken. That wasn't why you called, but you were glad that he said that before you told him what you had wanted to. You would have just messed everything up if you told him.

"Um, yeah. I just, I thought it was important considering we were friends before we started dating. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have called. Um. I'm glad you found someone, do me a favor? Don't fuck this one up. Anyways, bye Ashton."

You hung up and curled into a ball on your bed. As you cried, you slowly drifted asleep. It was then that you decided that you would stop staying in contact with the boys. You couldn't risk Ashton finding out that you were pregnant, with his child.

You were sat at your dining room table, talking to your 13-year-old son. He was a spitting image of Ashton, and reminded you of him everyday.

"So, Connor, your birthday is coming up soon."

"That it is." He said eating his dinner.

"What do you want for your birthday? I know we don't have a lot, but name anything you want, and I'll try my hardest to get for you."

"Well, um, actually. There's this one thing that I really want..." He said trailing off.

"What is it?"

"Can you promise you won't get mad at me for asking?"

"I promise." You said a little scared at what he would ask for.

"I was wondering if, um, maybe... Uh. Do you think that maybe I could-uh-meet my dad? Now, before you get upset at me for asking, let me explain. I'll be 14, and I know you've told me before that things weren't the best between you and him, but I'm the only one of my friends who doesn't have a dad, and a lot of the kids at school make fun of me for it. I know you try your hardest, but there are some things that only a dad could help me with."

You let out a sigh, knowing this day would come. You bit your lip and nodded.

"I understand, Connor. It's just, I'm not sure he would come. There's one thing I haven't told you, and uh, your dad is kind of in a band - famous one at that. I doubt he'd drop everything and travel across the world to come see us."

"Does he know about me, Mom? I get that he's in a band and everything, which is pretty cool, but if you told him about me, do you think that could get him to come over?"

"I don't know, hon. I'll see. Okay? I'll try to. And if he won't, his three band mates used to be really good friends of mine, so I'll see if they'll come. Does that sound good?"

"Yeah, thank you."

Later that night, you called tried calling the boys. Calum didn't answer; neither did Luke, so you tried Michael, hoping that you wouldn't have to call Ashton. The phone picked up and you heard Michael's voice.

"Hello?" Michael answered.

"Hey, Michael. It's y/n. Y/n y/l/n. How have you been? Um, it's been a while, yeah?"

"Y/N!" He yelled excitedly. "Oh shit, the boys are sleeping, I may have just woken them up. Yikes. Anyway, I've been good, yeah. What about you? It's been forever."

"I've been okay. Well, actually. Hmm, how do I put this?"

"Michael! Why are you up? It's 12am. Whom are you talking to?" I heard in the background.

"Shush, I'm on the phone with Y/N, now shut up, so I can hear her." I let out a soft laugh.

"I've missed you guys." I said smiling. "So, I called because I have a favor to ask."

"And what would that favor happen to be?"

"First, who were you talking to a second ago?"

"Calum, why?"

"No reason. Okay. Are you in Australia at the moment?"

"We are, yes."

"Great. So, I was wondering if you, the guys, and I could catch up sometime soon? There's someone I'd like you all to meet."

"Does that include Ashton?" Michael asked.

I took a deep breath.

"Yes. If he's willing to come, then yes it includes him. Please have him come."

"You sure?"

"I am, yes. He should come, too."

You and Michael set up the details and planned on meeting in two days at this one diner you guys always used to go to.

In the morning, you told Connor that he would be meeting some old friends of yours. He didn't know that he'd be meeting his dad.

On the day you were supposed to meet up with the guys, you started getting really anxious. You were really worried. It would be the first time seeing Ashton in 14 years. How would he even react to knowing that he had a son?

"Mom, are you coming?" Your son brought you back into reality.

Sighing, you nodded your head, grabbed the keys, and walked out to the car. Getting into the car, your son spoke again.

"Why are you so shaken up? I thought we were just going to see some friends?"

"They're friends I haven't seen in a while, Con. Just a little nervous, that's all."

Connor nodded and turned the radio on. The trip to the diner was short, so you were a bit early. After waiting in the car for a while, you decided to go in. You took a deep breath and looked around for them. When you realized that they weren't there yet, you got seated a table that would fit all of you.

"Hey Mom, I have to use the restroom, I'll be back in a minute."

While he was gone, you saw the boys come into the diner. You waved at them to come over to where you were sitting. You stood up and started giving them hugs. Calum spoke before you got to Ashton, which you were thankful for.

"Holy shit, Y/N? I didn't even recognize you, for a second. You're all grown up!" Calum said excitedly.

"Me? Look at you guys! Talk about growing up, puberty definitely served you all well. Like hot damn." They all let out a laugh. "Take a seat, please." You said referring to the fact that you were standing in the middle of some waitress's way.

"So how have you been, Y/N? Michael mentioned that there was someone you wanted us to meet?" Luke questioned.

You took a quick glance at Ashton, and you saw him looking down at his hands.

"I've been good, you could say. And yeah, there is someone I'd like you to meet. He went to the restroom, he should be back soon."

Ashton bit down on his lip trying not to be angry.

"He?" Michael asked, making sure he heard you right. He assumed it'd be a guy you wanted them to meet, but he wanted to clarify.

Before you could answer him, Connor came back. He usually wasn't the shy type, but he seemed to be a little taken back at the fact that your old friends were all guys.

"Who's this, Y/N?" Ashton finally perked up a bit.

You didn't answer him. Instead, you introduced Connor to them, but not them to Connor.

"Connor, I'd like you to meet some of my friends. This is Michael, Calum, Luke, and Ashton."

"Hi." He smiled shyly and sat down next to you. "Mom, I thought you said we were going out with old friends of yours." He whispered to you, hoping the boys didn't hear him.

"They are old friends, Con." You whispered back.

"Wait, did he say 'Mom'?" Calum questioned.

You nodded.

"So, he's your son?" Luke asked you.

Again, you nodded. Looking over at Ashton, he seemed to be processing this all.

"How old are you, Connor?" Ashton asked.

"I'll be 14 tomorrow, why?"

He didn't answer Connor. He looked right at you.

"Hey Y/N, could I talk to you for a moment?"

You got out of your seat and walked over with Ashton.

"Is, is that my son? Is Connor my son?" He asked shakily.

You took a deep breath and nodded your head, not knowing how to reply.

"Why? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Are you seriously asking me that question?" You said finally finding your voice. "I tried. I fucking tried, but when I did, you said that you were already in a relationship, and I didn't want to fuck things up for you. Goddammit Ashton."

"That's why you called?"

"Yes! I wouldn't call if I were in a relationship, because you didn't deserve to know. You cheated on me. Not once, not twice, but three fucking times. And I called to let you know that you were having a fucking child, but you said you were in a relationship, and I didn't want to mess things up for you. I called to get you all together, because my son wanted to meet his father. After I called, I decided it would be best to just stop talking to all the boys, because I couldn't risk you finding out. But here we are, because my son wanted to meet his father, and I thought after all these years, it would be a good idea, but apparently not."

With that you walked back to the table, not giving him a chance to speak. You sat down and joined conversation with the boys. Connor seemed to really enjoy the guys, which you were happy about. You were too involved in conversation that you didn't see Ashton come back. He started talking to Connor. The guys and you stopped talking and focused on their conversation.

"Hey bud, I'm Ashton. I'm actually your dad."

The smile on Connor's face was huge, and you were happy that he was happy. You were just hoping Ash wouldn't break Connor's heart, like he did yours.

He never did, and he eventually won yours back, too.
