A dark-haired teenager sat down on the floor of Elisa Maza's home. On the outside, she looked like a normal teenager, but once you got to know the girl, she was obviously not normal. Elisa knew teenagers were a handful, so many people have said they were, but this one was so different. She was almost impossible to control when she first took her in. The woman was barely able to get the teen's name, which was Jade.

Elisa Maza was called out to a castle ruin about 3 months ago, being a detective and all, that was her job, to investigate things when she was called out to do so. David Xanatos was already there, his assistant, Owen Burnett, being the one who called. Xanatos was collecting the ruins along with the gargoyles from the castle, the stone creatures allegedly being alive 1,000 years ago before a spell was casted on them. The reason behind the phone call was about a rough-looking teenage girl hanging around the castle ruins, mostly near the stone statues. She seemed very hostile and just plain crazy. The girl would also lunge out and growl at anyone who'd try to come near her 'family'. It was obvious the girl needed some kind of help. Elisa finally got the dark-haired teen out of the ruins with some hard persuasion and contemplated whether or not to take her to a mental hospital. She seemed way too young to the detective, and there was no telling how long she had been at that castle ruin. The woman brought the girl into her home, brushed out her matted hair, bathed her, clothed her, and fed her actual food other than whatever she lived off of near the ruins. But, as said before, that was 3 months ago...

The black-haired officer grabbed her red jacket from the coat rack, pulling it onto her body, "Jade, come on, I've been called out so you're going to Xanatos for now."

The young girl hopped down from her crisscross position on the couch and cocked her head to the side, crouching down on the floor a bit, "You have been called out," She asked, soon straightening up, "Why?"

Elisa let out a laugh, "We've been over this. It means I have to go to work, and I can't tell you where I'm going because, knowing you, you'd manage to follow. You're not allowed to come."

Jade pouted, "Ah, I see..."

The woman opened the door and turned to look at the girl, "Well, let's go to Xanatos's so he can watch you till I get back, okay?"

The teen huffed a bit and nodded, making her way to the door unwillingly.

Elisa smiled, closing the door behind them, "Good girl," She said, patting the girl's back, "I know you like to come with me, but I've been told specifically by my boss, no more unauthorized personnel with me on my missions."

"Elisa," Jade asked, over enunciating the 'E' in the woman's name, "Will Owen be there? I like him, and he's my friend."

"Of course," The woman answered as if it was a question from a child, "He works for Xanatos, girly! I'm sure he'll be there. You just wanna go into his office and bother him, don't you," She asked with a chuckle.

The teen smiled a mischievous smile and giggled, "Aye."
