It was just after tea, and we were supposed to go to the library to have our lessons.
"Come on, Alice, let's go let's go let's go!" Anastasia called me as she raced across the hall in delight.
We had just got the message that our tutor, Ms. Peters, was sick and would not be coming in today. So, Anastasia was hoping that we could find Grandma and listen to the story of The Great Wave.
"Oh, do be quiet! You'll give her a terrible fright if you scream and stomp like this." Avery sniffed. She was rather graceful and preferred peace and quiet.
We crashed into Grandma's room and found her talking with Mom.
"Pardon us, but Ms. Peters will not be coming in today, and Anastasia here was wondering if you could tell us the story of The Great Wave." I said.
Mom chuckled slightly.
"Again?" Grandma asked.
"Yes, please!" Anastasia made one of her signature doggy eyes.
"Alright then," Grandma gave in.
"Well, I'll leave you to it," Mom stood up and walked towards the door.
"Of course, dear."
We settled on the carpet in front of Grandma's chair, grabbing some cushions from the shelf.
"Ready?" Grandma asked.
"Yup!" We chorused.
