Smile again

Jay's POV

Without Zane I felt like incomplete. The world seemed to be strange without Zane's strangeness to balance our group out.

Kai was hotheaded

Cole was the leader

Lloyd was inexperience

Nya was proud

I..I was the jokester

But Zane...

He was the peace and the intelligence that kept us in line. Without him we'll end up like last time....separated. I mean I guess I could be back into show business, but now...now I just can't bring myself back to happiness.

I bang my head on the wall, and close my eyes. " Just another day in Ninjago, huh Zane?" I whisper to myself. I'm alone in the room, and know that I must be going crazy if I start talking to myself.

*Meow...meow...*

I turned around, and look at the window. I see a small white cat sitting on the window seal. It's strange, I've never seen that cat before. I looked at it and smirk a bit. " I'm not going to feed you, or I'll be stuck with you." I talk to it. The cat began to scratch at the window.

I sigh. " Well, I could become one of those cat people. Maybe it will take my mind of things for a while." I crack the window just enough for it to slip right in. The white cat jumped onto the bed, but also knocking down my picture of all of the ninja together.

" Hey! Be careful with that!" I gasped, picking it up from off the floor. The cat began to meow again, and I looked at it. Already feeling frustrated. " What do you want now!"

The white cat's eyes gleamed an icy blue and leopard spots appeared on it's body. *For you to smile again.* it spoke, it's voice sounding so familiar.

" Zane...." I fainted. My world turning back into darkness.....

" Jay! Jay wake up!"

" Jay!"

"Jay!"

I woke up, finding myself back on the bed. I looked up and saw Nya and Lloyd next to me. " What happened?" I moaned, rubbing my head.

" We found you on the floor, Jay! I told you that this was going to happen if you didn't start eating again!" Nya yelled at me, tears welling at her eyes. Lloyd shook her head and picked up something from the ground.

" This cat was next to you on the ground." Lloyd held up the white cat. My eyes widen, and I...I was in total shock. " Are you okay?"

" Well, not really, but...that cat...it...it spoke to me. I think?" I stammered, as the white cat curled up on the bed.

Nya sighed. " Jay, I think you better eat something. You're starting to see and hear things. Please, I'm worried about you. You haven't been the same since the funeral." she stated. I looked down, ashamed.

" I..I know. It's just hard, I'm sorry I worried you, Nya." I tried to assure you. I managed to get a small smile, and she got up.

" Okay, just rest for right now, you got that." Her eyes glaring down at me, but it was all play.

" Right." I smiled slightly. Once they had left the room; I looked down at the cat and began to question what had happened before I fainted. " Can you really talk?"

The cat looked at me and rubbed it's head on the bed covers.

I chuckled a bit. " Maybe I'm going crazy. Well, if you are going to stay for a while your going to need a name." The voice from my 'talking cat' sounded like a boy, possibly Zane, but just so it's not so reminding of him. Maybe I'll name him something in remembrance of Zane. " How about I call you Shard."

Shard looked at me and purred. He probably liked it, I mean is it the name of Zane's first dragon.

I can't help, but think....was that really Zane talking through Shard?
