Chapter 1: {project exchange}
The feeling of excitement died down and was instead replaced with anxiety. Coming from a rich family had never done her any good. And yet she found herself longing to live a normal life. To be treated as an individual, that was of equal importance as any other student. She had, for a very long time, tried to persuade her father to even allow her to step foot into the school, let alone enrol here due to past experiences. She knew all her father was doing was to protect her, but she didn't want to be stuck at home forever. She wanted to see what its was like. What it was like outside those walls. How long has it been since she had a friend? Eight years? Nonetheless, she loved her father. She knew that he was a kind person who would do anything to protect his family.
The hallways were almost empty with students occasionally passing by. probably to their club activities. She had thought of getting into a club. Of course, her father had picked one for her, of which she had approved . She was fairly good at it. She had always linked volleyball to other sports like basketball or tennis, which in turn, made her an amazing player. But none of those seemed to be that significant, well, to her at least. She had always thought her skills weren't as good as the regulars on the volleyball teams which she used to watch on television. She didn't have to be extremely good at it. As long as she got to play volleyball even once before it was all over, she would give anything for that moment to come. Her father had set up a project just for her. Apparently, she was to join the boy's volleyball team due to the girl's team closing down. She wasn't to fond of being surrounded by tall men but she didn't complain. After all, her father is willing to go to such lengths for a single person like her.
Making her way to the gym wasn't easy. Well with all the stares coming from the students. Was it what she's wearing? Her appearance? The only thing she could do was continue walking. Unknown to her, it wasn't her appearance or that she had come from a rich family. No. It was the beauty that she was. She had grown since middle school, where she dropped out and started homeschooling due to certain personal reasons. She never once thought that she was kind or pretty. She always had a sense of insecurity. As if at any moment, she could lose everything she had.
Her gaze shifted from the ground to the door. Ah, she probably looked like a weirdo. Her hand had felt a light bump on her four head. shaking her head, she let out a short breath.
" Oi, what did you say?! Idiot!"
The scene before her had shocked her. She had always been self conscious when in front of people she did not know. Due to her past experiences, she had grown to hate being in a rich family.
Always stand straight. be on proper behaviour at all times. Is what her butler use to say. She hated every part of being in a rich and sophisticated family. Even so, she wouldn't change a thing. She was fine with just her father, her brother and herself.
She had gotten over the fact that she was going to be staying with a bunch of boys and was now worrying over how she would even survive with them. Relieved to see there was at least one more girl in the club, she sighed.
"Um, excuse me. I'm from the L/n family. I'm here for the "Volleyball addition project"."
The girl turned around.
Wow.
She had never seen a girl as beautiful as her. Standing next to her felt weird. She felt like she was way lower in the attractive chart. she felt insecure next to such a person.
" Ah, ok. would you wait a second? I'll call Takeda sensei here."
Her smile. Her glasses. Her hair that framed her face so perfectly. Y/n had only one word to describe what she was feeling . That was jealousy. She was jealous of her. She wanted so much to be her friend. She had seen on television and other places. Going shopping, hanging out at a caffé. She wanted to do all of it.
