Chapter 3- Surprise!

'Veronica, how nice to see you. What are you doing here?', Nkenna said, as she hugged Veronica- her old friend.

'Just chilling for now. The next two days are going to be very busy for me.'

'How so?'

'I'm an intern at Incendio Inc. and I was chosen to accompany a senior editor and her team to cover Prince Antoine's ball.'

'Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!', Nkenna screamed. 'I'm so happy for you. I wish I could be there.'

'While I was vacationing in Seychelles earlier on this year, I met Princess Amia and her entourage. She's really nice and told me to give her a call whenever I'm in France. I'm sure she could get you an invite.'

'WHAT?!?!', Nkenna said in a bewildered tone. 'I didn't mean it literally!!'

'Well you're coming anyways', Veronica said, then she noticed the figure standing behind Nkenna.

'Who's the guy?'

'Oh..........um', Nkenna said as she regained herself. 'This is Alejandro. He's my best friend.'

'Ooooohhhhhh, THAT Alejandro', Veronica said. 'Hey. It's nice to finally meet you.'

'Same here', Alejandro said.

What?! She's heard about me?!? That means Nkenna must talk about me!!! What did she tell Veronica? I need to find out- He thought to himself.

' Hey Veronica, mind if I come along with you guys? I'll pay for my flight & everything', Alejandro said in a conniving voice.

'Uhhhhh..........I'll see what I can do', Veronica said, trying to hide her excitement.'Just keep in touch.'

'Sure. Definitely', he replied

'This is gonna be so much fun!', Veronica said to Nkenna.

'I know right!!!', Nkenna replied.

The two girls continued chatting joyfully as Alejandro walked behind them and continued thinking to himself with a grin on his face.

Now let's see how anyone even thinks of talking or looking at Nkenna- not on my watch!
