I watch from upstairs as this stranger alone with my mom turned the place upside down. It was from the door to the kitchen and then to the dinning area. I watched as he touched her body in unimaginable ways, I watched as she begged him for more. I watched until they switched positions. From one side of the room to the next. I watched with tears running down my face. The anger that was stored inside me was bowling over. I was making the decision of turning away or putting a stop to her nightly activities. Just as I set one foot down the stairs I felt a tag on my night gown. I looked around just to see Melissa with her teddy bear and her thumb in her mouth then she said in the sweetest tone " sis I'm really hungry and I can't sleep". Another tear ran down my face and I took one more look at the woman down stairs then I walked back upstairs with Melissa's hand in mine. I told her to get in bed then I covered her with the blanket. "I know your hungry but there's nothing here at this time I promise I'll get you something at sunrise" I told her this with some assurance. I read her the little mermaid until she fell asleep. I gave her a kiss and gave Kim who was fast asleep one as well. I wanted to cry but I knew I had to be strong for my two little Sunshine. As I sat there thinking about the promise I made to Melissa I hear disgusting sounds coming from down stairs.
