Chapter 31

By the time Helen finished playing, everyone applauded and cheered. She couldn't believe it, she had faced her fear of playing her violin in front of people and everyone loved it. Her heart pounded with excitement as she gave a big smile. She felt so relieved and happy, her dream of letting everyone hear her music had finally come true, she didn't even remember the negative comments people used to say to her. All she was thinking about was everyone enjoying her music. She then went off the stage where Glinda ran to her and into a big hug.

"I knew you could do it!" she exclaimed.

"I did it!" Helen exclaimed as they gave a little scream of delight.

After hugging Ismene, Helen turned to Achilles as they went into a hug.

"That was incredible" he smiled as they pulled away.

"I can't believe I just did that" she said surprised.

"How do you feel?"

"Great actually!"

"Well great!"

"And uh, thanks again for getting my violin fixed. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't of faced my fear."

"I'll always be there for you."

They both exchanged small smiles just as a slow song started to play.

"Oo..." Glinda grinned "It's couples dance time."

And with that she and Ismene turned to Achilles and Helen with sneaky smiles.

"Seriously?" they both smirked.

"We'll leave you to it" Ismene smiled as she and Glinda went away.

Now alone, Achilles and Helen looked around to see all the couples slow dancing to the song.

"Well uh-" Achilles started to say with a small smile "You wanna dance?"

"Sure" Helen smiled as they went onto the dance floor as they started to sway to the song.

And as they did so, they couldn't stop looking into each others eyes with smiles as they felt a warm feeling in their hearts.

"Hey look" Achilles suddenly said looking over her shoulder.

Helen turned around and was surprised to see Belle and Simon dancing together.

"Well what do you know" she smiled "We should really do matchmaker for other people."

He gave a small chuckle as she then looked over his shoulder.

"Wait" she said surprised "Is that Violet and Phillip?"

Achilles turned around to see Violet dancing with Phillip.

"Oh yeah" he smiled "When I was shopping at Walmart a few weeks ago, I ran into Violet, and she told me that she wanted to go to Prom with Phillip."

"Awe really?" Helen said with a heartwarming smile "She likes him."

"Yeah, and I just told her to go for it, and what do you know it worked."

"Okay we really should do matchmaker for other people."

They both laugh as they continued to dance.

"Hey uh, can I ask you something?" Helen suddenly asked.

"Sure."

"When we had our little talk in the park, did you say you were jealous when you found out that I agreed to go to Prom with Randy?"

"Uh, did I really say I was jealous?" he said as he tried to hide his guilt.

"Yes" she smirked "And don't hide it from me."

He gave a sigh "Alright, yes I was jealous."

"Really?" she said with a small smile.

"I know it's wrong to be jealous, but the reason was was because, well, I cared about you, and I was afraid Randy was gonna do something bad to you."

"Well you kinda got that right" she agreed.

"Yeah well, I just didn't want you going with him because we both know he was bad news, and I couldn't stand seeing you get hurt."

Helen gave a small smile as she felt her heart flutter.

"Anything else you wanna say?" she asked with a smile.

"Uh-" he said as he felt himself blush a bit.

Achilles knew that he needed to tell her, he couldn't hold it in anymore, he needed to follow his heart.

"And uh-" he put in "Another reason I got jealous was because, I was hoping that maybe we would, well, go to Prom together."

"Wait what?" Helen smiled.

"I know it's kinda late now, but I was kinda planning on asking you out, but then we had that big fight and I never got a chance."

"Wait, you were planning on asking me out?"

"Yeah, because well, I really like you Helen. And I know it's kinda weird cause we've been friends since Freshman year, but then I started having this feelings for you, and the next thing I knew, you were in my mind every day."

At that point Helen felt herself blush as she gave a small giggle.

"You wanna know something?" she smiled "I was actually planning on asking you out the same day you wanted to ask me out."

"Seriously?" he said surprised as she gave a small laugh.

"Yes" she smiled "Because, I've been starting to have these feelings for you too, and you've been on my mind every day."

Achilles gave a smile as he felt his heart flutter.

"I like you Achilles" she smiled "I've always have."

At that point they both felt relieved that they've finally told each other how they felt. But then they suddenly felt themselves leaning towards each other, and the next thing they knew, they went into a warm kiss that made their hearts jump with joy. Sparks flew as they held onto each other while they kissed. And when they pulled away, both of them couldn't stop smiling as they then went into a hug.

But across from them, Ismene and Promey had their arms wrapped around each other in a side hug as they watched as Achilles and Helen had their romantic moment.

"They're so romantic" Ismene smiled as she continued to hug Promey.

"I know" he agreed with a smile.

But then they realized what they were doing as they turned to each to each other with their eyes widen.

"Ew!" they quickly pulled away with disgust as they walked away.

Still on the dance floor, Achilles and Helen continued to dance together with their foreheads pressing against each others with smiles on their faces. Both of their hearts were still jumping with joy. Not only did they manage to tell each other their feelings, but their bullying problems were now finished. It was truly a memorable night.
