It was around 10:30 am on a Friday night in June, and me and my brother decided to stay up late that night watching one of my favorite shows. It took a bit of convincing but our aunt and uncle finally decided that it was okay since it was a Friday night.

So there we were laying on my bed with the computer's speakers blaring in our ears to the opening credits of The 100. Barely and faintly behind the computer's speakers we could hear the rain fall and thunder outside.

About 15 minutes into the episode I heard a faint scratch on my window outside making me jump and look over to the window while my little brother pays the noise no mind. When my eyes lay on the window I see a tall shadow across the street, just standing there in the rain. Being my paranoid self I jump up laying my laptop onto my little brothers lap, I jump up off the bed and run over to the rain drop filled window my feet pit pat onto the cold hard wood floor as I reach the distant window out of breath from pure horror and I look out one last time I see the shadow still there, staring at me. With that I close the curtains briskly and let out a breathe I had no idea I was holding before striding back over to my bed and sitting back in my spot.

After about 3 episodes I hear a shrill of a scream making my brother and I jump from our places and look at one another.

"Anne? W-What was that?" My younger brother Ryan asks his voice laced with fear. His eyes filled with direful horror.

I gulp and slide off the bed slowly, my eyes never leaving the window on the other side of the room I had just closed.

"Nothing Ryan, Just some neighbor playing a prank." I soothe as I crouch down and walk slowly on the hardwood floor toward the window. Planks squeaks below my feet making me cringe. As soon as I reach the window I slowly pull back the curtain and peer out onto the street.

My eyes are met with the tall dark figure from earlier making me close the curtain briskly once more and step back.

"What's wrong Anne?" Ryan asks worriedly as I step back and sit on the edge of my bed staring dumbfounded, frightened, and full of shear horror.

"Anne?" Ryan proceeds concerned.

Without talking I raise my finger and gulp.

"Ryan go get Uncle Kevin?" I say trying to contain my horror but failing.

"Anne?" Ryan asks full of concern and fear.

I purse my breathing and the hear the rain on the windows and thunder in the air.

Thinking that the nightmare of a shadow and scream is over I begin to relax then without warning my ears begin to ring with another shrill making myself and Ryan jump.

" Go get Uncle Kevin !"I yell this time making him jump and fly out my bedroom door.

My Uncle stumbles down stairs with his shotgun and robe before he disappears out the front door.

As if to be spooked he comes flying back into the house soaked with rain and a direful look on his face.

By this time Ryan and I had already made it down stairs and were sitting on the steps with my bat and my brothers knife.

"Uncle Kev-'' Ryan begins buts cut off my Uncles hand raised to the air as a sign to shush. He pulls out a house phone from his pocket and dials a number before holding it to his ear. after a few seconds a muffled voice comes over the phone.

"911 What's your emergency?'' I believe I heard before my uncles pants calm.

"Yes hello, I need an ambulance and the police, a man was standing across the street with a blood drenched axe and a dead body on the sidewalk!" my uncle yells into the phone and pants.

After that we never found out if the man was caught or not.
