(((this chapter is dedicated to my dear friend Moriah -aka Ri the Fry, aka meow_321- because she's BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING AND I LOVE HER. Also, her birthday was really recent so HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE! You're super amazing and I can't even put it into words how beautifuly lovely you are and how much you mean to me. Never forget you're Liam's 'hot-mamma'  xP)))

“You didn’t answer my question.” I said slowly as I watched the man, Zachary, in front of me. He laughed again, though it wasn’t as maniacal as before. This laugh was more soft and gentle, like how he had been acting just moments ago.

“Good observation,” Zachary said, the smile that was playing on his lips disappearing, “Blake, what I’m about to tell you is going to be very confusing and strange for you to hear. Before I continue, I need you to promise me you’ll hear me out to the end. No more interruptions.” Zachary leaned back in his chair and folded his fingers together again. I stared blankly at him, thinking. I was still nervous and shocked as to what was happening and what I could possibly be getting myself into, but I started thinking of me and Juliet’s flat and how we were quickly getting piled up in debt. Add to the fact that she just lost her job and we were getting ourselves into a pretty sticky situation. I didn’t have too many more options left… I might as well take this one. It couldn’t be that bad right?

“Alright I promise,” I sighed, “Now tell me what I want to know.” I folded my arms over my chest and copied Zachary’s stance by leaning back in my own chair. Zachary sighed and glanced up at the body guard, nodding his head at the man. I turned to see what that look was all about, and saw that the bodyguard had slipped out of the room, leaving just me and Zachary. I knew that one less large man blocking my exit should have made me feel safer, but it didn’t. If anything, in that small and empty room, I felt more exposed.

“I’ll start off, Blake, with telling you about who I am,” Zachary’s voice snapped me back to the present and I turned around to watch him, “As I said before my name is Zachary Taylor. I work for some extremely wealthy and powerful people, who just recently, have come to a slight bump in their plans for the future of their company. I’ve been working in this position for ten years now, which means I am very good at what I do.” Zachary stood from his chair and placed his hands on the desk, leaning against them for support, to emphasize his point. He only looked like he was in his late twenties, and at the latest, early thirties which could only mean he had been working with these people since he was teenager… damn. I had to respect him a little bit for that.

“I’m sure you’re wondering what exactly it is that I ‘do’ by now, so I’m going to be perfectly honest, because I believe honesty is the best quality a person can have,” I seriously doubted that this man had been ‘honest’ with me before, and from the cruel smile on his lips, I was beginning to doubt that he was ever going to, negating his point entirely. But then again… maybe that was his point?

“Blake, I am the head of an executive comity for a top-secret group that deals with people who have become great, or as the historical figure Julius Caesar said; ‘have had greatness thrust upon them.’ My company works with people who are known by everyone everywhere. Who are constantly under the public eye. Who have become targets by many horrible people, who are only jealous of what they have of course. In other words,” Zachary leaned in so that our faces were only inches apart, and whispered the last words, “celebrities.”

I sat perfectly still in the awkward silence that followed while Zachary fell back into his seat and watched me. Finally I met his eyes and fought the urge to smile, but I couldn’t win the battle. It wasn’t long before a large grin spread across my face and I let a small laugh escape my lips.

“Really? Do you actually expect me to believe all of this?” I managed to ask through giggles. Zachary’s expression was stone cold but his eyes were burning holes in me as I continued, “Your ‘big reveal’ is that you’ve been my freaking stalker for god knows how long, only to tell me you work with ‘famous’ people? I’m sorry but I still don’t see where I’m supposed to fit into all of this.” I leaned back in my chair and propped my feet up on the edge of Zachary’s desk. The only indication he gave me that what I had just done upset him was a slight twitch of his left eye, but he remained emotionless other than that. Suddenly he sighed and ran a hand through his dark hair quickly before meeting my eyes again.
