Tesseract

The Package

"Pitter-Patter,Pitter-Patter." 5 hours later and it's still raining. I look out my window and there are no clouds. It's a clear night. Yet still it continues to rain."Knock Knock." Who would be out on such a strange night. I take a quick glance at my alarm clock as I throw on my robe.2:37! What the heck! I need to get to bed, I have school in the morning."Knock,Knock." I might as well open the door.

As I shuffle down the stairs as quickly and quietly as I can my cat approaches me from behind."Meow." I jump down the last few steps and tell Eevie to be quite. I quickly check the peephole and see someone strangely dressed walking away. Once there out of my sight I open the door. There's a package. I check for a name or address but all I see is 'Handle with caution.' All of a sudden I remember a few strange stories I saw on the new's. One about a boy going missing and the only trace he left was a box that said 'handle with caution.' I wonder if I should open it or leave it till later. I decide it would be best if I wait till the morning and talk to my mom.

I wake up as my mom gently nudges me. 'Good morning,sweetie.' I moan and turn around as if the wind had woken me up and turning around would make me go back to sleep. 'There's a package in the living room. I think it might be for you.' Suddenly I jump up and remember the package from last night. 'Mom, do you think it might be just like one of those packages when a child goes missing.''No. I don't think there's a tesseract inside the package.' As if she had just revealed the biggest secret in the world, She stumbles back and throws her hands over her mouth.'Tesseract?'I remember seeing a tesseract in a movie called Avengers when I was little.'What? Did I say tesseract? No. I must of meant...um...ugh...you know what you're probably right this isn't for you.''But mom, What is a tesseract.''I don't know what your talking about son.''Mom,But what is a tesser-''Aiden B. Shoretel. You better be quiet and forget this whole matter.'

I've haven't seen my mom like that for a long time. As a matter a-fact I can't remember the last time she was like that. Something's defiantly up. And I'm pretty sure it has to do with the tesseract thing my mom mentioned. 

As quick as possible I turn on my computer and flick on my monitor. Within seconds, Im reading an article about the tesseract on Wikipedia. It says the tesseract is an ancient object with mysterious powers that enable the user to travel through time and space! It sounds mysterious but there's only one paragraph, and the only other website that comes up when I research 'Tesseract' is for some weird school that supposedly teaches you how to use magic and control the tesseract and other magical artifacts.

"Aiden, honey. It's time for school." As soon as I hear this I jump up and throw my clothes on. then I grab my backpack and run down the stairs. Before my mom realizes I'm down stairs I decide to open the box. Inside I see a glowing blue cube. I quickly wrap it up in a blanket and put it in my backpack. I hide the box and sprint out the door. As I throw my backpack into the trunk and leap into the front seat my mom opens the car door and sits down. As the car starts my mom says 'Aiden, Where's the package.' As soon as the word package leaves her mouth it feels as if time stops and I'm in control.

Suddenly I remember what I have in my backpack. Hoping my mom can't see when time is stopped I open my backpack and unwrap the tesseract. That's when things get weird.
