Everywhere I look around,
Hearts lie shattered on the ground.
Empty souls fill the air,
Of long lost couples everywhere.
Dying love of innocent hearts,
Eyes that cry as a lover departs.
The unfaithful act of a person so cold,
Another long story just yet to be told.
The naive one who lost her mind,
The partner who’s too rich to be kind.
The one who thought she knew it all,
‘Til the first time she got that dreaded call.
The arguments, the fights, the slaps,
The pushes, then the sarcastic claps.
The man who tried to take control,
Then went too far and missed his goal.
Every day I see these situations,
Ending in tearful conversations.
Another ‘forever’ broken apart,
Another sorrow lies in the heart.
I watch this happen to everyone,
I think to myself that love is a con.
Why should I believe in love anymore,
When there’s always someone left lying on the floor?
Every good thing must come to an end,
But it leaves another heart we’ve yet to mend.
So if love lasts only in fairy-tales,
Can’t we make a love story that never fails?
So as I turn my head away,
To another breakup here this day,
I dream of a world with no tears or cries,
No fallouts, no fears – not another love dies.
