We were still driving down I-75 northbound when my dad hit the brakes and we came to a stop. I awoke from my sleep i tried getting on our drive. If your couldn't already tell, we were moving. We were on out way from our home in Tennessee where I had lived all my life. We were headed for California. It was a big move and was all because of my stupid dad and his stupid fiance that lived in California. My dad decided to drop everything in Tennessee for her. And the worst part is that she hates me. Not just that though. She also is making me go to the school she teaches at! She claims that there are plenty of nice students there and I will love having her around and that we can "bond." My life currently sucks.

My dad finally pulled into a driveway of a large home in the most expensive part of LA. "Dad why are we stopping. I want to get there already." My dad responded. "We are here Y/N..." "Ha funny joke dad." Except he wasn't kidding. This was Mia's house. I didn't think she was this rich. I had never saw Mia's house but not I'm thinking she's even more of a snob.  I decided I needed to chill out so I decided to text my friend Y/B/F/N.
Y/N: hey😘
Y/B/F/N: hey😘 I miss you soooo much!
Y/N: miss you too. It's like I lost a sibling
Y/B/F/N: ik your like a sister to me. Are you in California yet?
Y/N: yea. I'm gonna be living with a snob
My dad turned to me. "Put your stupid phone away or I'll smash it to pieces. Now come on. I want you to meet Mia. She's gonna take you to the school to get registered and to meet a few people before you officially start on Friday." I had forgotten about school. Why can't I just go back to Nashville? My dad made me get out of the car and go meet Mia. I pounded on the door and my dad threatened me so I stopped. Maybe my dad hates me too. I should just go live with Conner. Why is being 14 so hard!
"Y/N, I'd like you to meet your soon-to-be step mom Mia!" "Step mom." I thought. It had been almost a year since mom had died and I couldn't bear to let the thought of her slip my mind. "Hey Y/NN!" Mia said a bit too cheery. "It's Y/N not "Y/NN". I said flustered already. "Ok then. Well while your dad gets everything inside why don't we go to the school. I have a whole day planned. Plus I only have 5 more minutes until I have to get back." "Why?" "Well I'm the principal silly!" Great... step mom and principal. This day just keeps getting better.
I hopped in the passenger seat of her Ferrari. Wow. This might not be so bad. I mean. I'm a country girl in a Ferrari.

We had just pulled up when a neatly dressed man ran through the doors of the gated school to Mia. "Your keys madam?" "Thank you." What..? Valet parking? We entered the school and to my surprise everyone cleared a pathway for Mia. We soon ended up in a large room filled with furniture. It was big enough to be my bedroom. "Do you like my office?" Office?! I wondered if she had won the lottery or something because you don't make much being a principal. "Y/N I have a student coming to pick you up and show you around the school. I hope you have fun. He will be here in 10 minutes." He. The word at first startled me. I was thinking she would at least let it be a girl but nope.
About 10 minutes later a slim kid with light brown hair and beautiful eyes walked through the door. "Hello Ms. Brooks. Is this your daughter that you wanted me to show around?" "Actually.." Mia started. "Yes! I interrupted. I am her daughter." Mia turned to look at me. She was astonished by what I said. I think I was actually starting to like her more and more. "I-I'm Y/C/N." The name sounded familiar to me but I couldn't place him. I decided to look it up later tonight. "I'm Y/N. Mrs. Brook's daughter." Again Mia had been surprised in my actions and she smiled slightly at the thought of her making me happy. "Go on you two. You don't have that long. 1 hour tops!" Me and Johnny giggled and ran into the hallway. "So your new here? Where have you been? I mean your mom is the principal and you don't even go to her school." "Well to be fair she's not my mom yet. Not for another month. And I just moved here from Nashville Tennessee. Well the outskirts of it. My dad is getting married to Ms. Brooks so yea..." I trailed off. "Cool. I think we will be great friends." He hugged me and we went on with the tour.
