"Grandpa!!", the children screeched running into Eren's bedroom. He was old and happy, and his crinkly smile showed off his forever-dazzling dimples. His grandchildren tackled him where he laid and he groaned under the weight of the children. He never knew being old could be this hard.
"Mama dropped us off, she said she had to hurry on to work, so she said to tell you good morning for her"
He cackled, but then sighed. Mikasa was working too hard these days. It would be good for her to take sometime off, she really deserves it.
He stared down at his three grandchildren and smiled again. He was happy he was able to live this long, and has been given the joy of grandchildren. But there was the thought of something, rather someone that made him wish occasionally that he hadn't lived quiet as long. Just a tad shorter.
He silently looked over to the side of his bed, and though his sight wasn't at its greatest, he could clearly make out the figure in the picture on his bedside. Levi.
Lillian, his oldest grandchild at the age of 15 noticed.
"Are you missing him grandpa?"
He sighed, "I always do."
Armin, another one of his grandchildren, was twelve-years-old, and was named after a good friend. He spoke up next.
"I miss grandpa Levi too...."
Spencer, his third and youngest grand child who was 8 said, "Grandpa, you never talk about him much."
"Sometimes, when you miss someone you try to avoid thinking or talking about them, because it hurts too much", Eren replied, thinking about how Levi had once said those very words himself.
Lillian looked like she wanted to say something but she hesitated. Eren nodded encouraging her question.
"Grandpa, I know you never talk about him, but I can't help but be curious. I've heard a lot of different stories from Papa and Mama and from everyone else about you two, so....."
"Yes?" , He encouraged her.
"Well, I really want to know the real story, from you grandpa."
He sat there for a moment. His family had probably given them the watered down version of their love story, less danger, less sadness, not as much lies and guilt. No violence or pain. But that wasn't the true story. And Eren felt obligated for them to know the truth. And even if hurt to think of him, even though it hurt to miss him, he was willing to give them the truth.
"Okay, sit down first kidos", he urged them to take a seat on the love seat that had been place beside his bed a couple year ago. The all quickly liked on. Each of them looking eagerly at their grandpa. They were so innocent, so pure. They had so much light and love and life int run still. They haven't seen the horrors that Eren has seen all to close yet. He hoped they would enjoy this time of peace in their life, but he doubted it. He didn't take time to enjoy his own childhood, none of us do.
"So," Eren began ," Where would you like me to start."
Spencer shouted out excitedly "From the beginning!"
"Yeah! How did you meet grandpa?" Armin said leaning in closer.
Lilian stared, prepared to listen, and understand intensively. And then, after a deep breath, he began.
"I met him on a day that was the color of his eyes. It was a grayish, silver sort of day. It wasn't raining but it was extremely cloudy. I remember every detail of that day, right down to the last second of it...."

"Eren Jaeger wake the actual fuck up", Armin groaned rolling over in bed, wrapping his arm possessively over him.
Before you get any funny ideas, no he was never with Armin Arlert. They havs been inseparable best friends since Armin was born 2 years after Eren was. Honestly it's always been them against the world, just him and Armin. Yes eventually they made their own separate friends, and created somewhat of different social lives, but they always had a never breaking bond nothing in this world could break.
Eren slapped his best friends arm and swatted him away. He pushed a pillow over his face and screamed semi-loudly.
"I don't want to adult today!!!" He yelled, almost kicking in frustration.
"Too bad, you lazy ass, you got work, I got YouTube videos to make.... It's life man", Armin sighed, taking Eren's pillow away, so he was no longer shielded from the daylight that seeped into the room from the window. Eren hissed as his eyes burned from the sudden exposure.
"First of all, since when did you have such crappy language. And second of all, some of us, unlike you, have to deal with having an actual job instead of being Internet famous."
Armin shrugged, "Haters gonna hate."
Eren sighed, "Don't start that lame Internet weeb talk with me please."
Armin stuck his tongue out at his best friend, "Tell that to my 5 million subscribers."
"Yeah, yeah I get it," Eren grumbled, making his way out of bed.
