Blacked Out

Chapter 6

After two days of crying to myself in the hospital room, I decided I should try to get up and explore the hospital. Sitting around not doing anything didn't help take my mind off of my best friend, and I was becoming quite tired of looking at the same white walls all day long. I pressed the red button next to my bed that signaled a nurse to come assist me. A few seconds after I pressed the button a male nurse, one I hadn't met before walked into the room. As soon as he entered the room I felt my eyes wandering all over his toned body. From what I could tell he was extremely buff and was extremely tall. He was wearing navy blue scrubs that fit tightly against his broad shoulders and wide arms. He had the most piercing brown eyes I had ever seen. His blonde hair was a nice contrast with his flawless tan skin. He looked like a freaking Calvin Klein model.

I realized I was starting to stare when he cleared his throat. I looked up at him and his smile lit up the dark room.

"Hi." I said rather quietly. "Um... Is there anyway you could help me walk down to the cafeteria?" I asked. "I'm really bored laying here and I'm getting a little hungry."

"Um... Yeah." he replied his smile fading. "Let me go get you a wheelchair since you're not really able to walk." His eyes traveled down to the big cast on my leg.

Oh. I had forgotten about my leg. I was really disappointed that I couldn't walk around, but hey, at least I get a hot nurse to push me around the hospital.

"Okay. Thank you!" I then had a sudden burst of confidence, that I'm not sure why, came to me, considering the situation I was in. It's probably from all the drugs they have me on... "I'm ruby... by the way.." I decided I would like to get on a first name basis with this nurse. That decision was also most likely caused by the medications.

"I already know your name." The apparently nameless nurse replied rather harshly. I felt my cheeks turn bright red. He started to the door and I felt pressure in the back of my throat. I knew I was about to cry but I wasn't sure if it was caused by his unpleasant attitude toward me or me realizing I can't tell Mia about this super attractive guy. I think it was just a combination of both...

"Oh... Um.. alright.." I responded with embarrassment prominent in my tone.

"Finn." he finally answered. His back towards me. "I'm going to go get your wheel chair."

"Okay, Finn." I tried to sound as mean as possible but I didn't sound very harsh. Finn continued to walk out of my room and down the hallway, to go get my wheelchair. What a dick..

About ten minuted later, Finn finally came back into the room with my wheelchair.

"What took so long? I thought you said you would be right back?" I asked. I had been waiting a lot longer then Finn said he would be. I was starting to think he had forgotten about me, and that I would be stuck in this room all day again.

"I am actually really sorry Ruby." Woah. His response surprised me. I was expecting a rude comment about 'needing to be patient' or some shit like that. But nope, he was suprisingly nice. "I had to escort a band to the cafteteria. The band's security wasn't enough. There are so manyy screaming fans outside the hospital. It's ridiculous." Finn responded. I was so shocked that he was being sincere. I heard a beeping noise coming from Finn's pocket and he pulled out his pager. He read the message than looked up at me with a smile. "Ruby... You have some visitors that want to see you" He said with a smirk on his face.

"Who is it?" I asked confused as to who it might be... I wouldn't be my mother, because as of right now she didn't even know I was in the hospital... "Finn... Who is it?" I asked again when he failed to answer my question.

"I think you'll recognize them." He started towards the door. Right before he got to the door he turned around. "Ruby." he said. I couldn't tell if he was asking me a question or just saying my name, so I just assumed it was a question.

"What?" I responded. I was annoyed that he still didn't answer as to who was coming to visit me.

"Never mind." Finn said. He shook his head and continued to walk out of my hospital room. What an ass.

Several minutes after Finn left I heard another knock on my door. I guess these were my 'visitors' Finn had told me were coming to visit.

"Come in!" I shouted. The door creaked open and my mouth dropped. In walked Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik. I realized my mouth was wide open, when Harry nudged Liam's arm and raised his eyebrows. Liam turned to him and giggled.

"Hello Ruby. How are you feeling?" Harry asked me. His words were so slow and drawn out. I could listen to him talk for hours and never get tired of his voice.

"Um. I'm okay. A lot better than I was a few days ago." I replied to the handsome young boy who kept walking closer and closer towards my bed.

"Yeah. Last time we tried to visit you, You weren't doing so well." As soon as Harry said that I remembered waking up for the first time in the hospital and seeing all the boys standing around my bed. I didn't get to talk to them because I was rudely interrupted my heart deciding to stop beating normally.

I was about to respond to Harry's comment when Niall spoke up. "Can we take you down to the cafeteria and get you something to eat?" Niall asked. "One of the nurses told us that you were hungry and you wanted to get out of your room so we thought we could take you!"

"That would be lovely!" I responded ecstatically. "Can one of you help me get into this wheel chair, please?" Harry walked over to my bed and sat me up. He grabbed under my legs and my back and scooped me into his arms. I could feel his hard arm muscles underneath me. He sat me into my wheel chair, and pushed me out of the room.
