Chapter 22

~Niall's POV~

"So are we clear on the plan," I ask the eight others around me.

They nod, then Ashton says, "When River gets to the backyard, Harry, Zayn, Liam and Louis will start singing Drag Me Down. Zayn's filing in on your part so you can propose. As they're singing Drag Me Down, Luke, Calum, Mikey and I will sing She Looks So Perfect.".

Luke added, "River will be so upset and surprised and happy!".

Louis and Liam nodded, cuddling with each other on another sofa. Harry and his girlfriend Alison were napping, but I knew Harry had heard everything.

Paul was trying to calm Zayn who had tripped and scraped up his left knee and hand.

I shake my head gently, then when everyone was ready, Paul went to go get River.

~River's POV~

I was cleaning the dishes with the show Paw Patrol in the back ground and while the kids were watching said show as they went to sleep.

"Hey, River, Niall wants to see you outside. I'll finish your chores for you so you can go check on him," Paul says.

"Are you sure? I don't want to burden you, knowing Zayn's not feeling well and that you two need to talk out this rough patch you hit," I say softly, finishing the dishes and covering the babies with blankets.

"I'm sure, and Niall insisted on you coming outside," Paul says.

"There's milk for the twins in the fridge and some fruit for Tony in the fruit bowl. They're currently watching a Paw Patrol marathon. Chase is the police dog and a German shepherd. Marshal is the Dalmatian and work as a fire fighter," I explain, telling Paul about the different puppies in the show.

Paul nods, then he gently picks up the twins and they automatically cuddle with him. Tony used Paul's right leg as a pillow.

When I was satisfied with how they were cuddling, I went outside.

Not even a second later I heard my brothers and the rest of 1D singing. I blinked softly, fighting back tears.

Niall walked out from the trees, his eyes sparkling. I was openly crying, not knowing what was happening.

"River Rose Irwin," Niall says.

I look up and him, then I cover my mouth when he gets on one knee.

"Will you become River Rose Horan," he asks.

I nodded yes.
