He snaked his right hand behind his back and crossed his fingers.

“I promise I won’t tell anyone.”

He always promised he would keep secrets even though he knew he couldn’t keep them all. In fact he was surprised anyone still trusted him.

“Thanks” said Julie with an enormous grin on her skinny freckled face.

It all started with a strange text message,” I need 2 talk 2 u! Meet me before school…”

Jake tossed his phone on the kitchen counter and proceeded to sip his morning coffee.

Jake wasn’t a typical sixteen year old, he enjoyed spending his time going on long runs and listening to Guns and Rosses. His room was always tidy and his bed was always made. His bedroom walls were covered in photos of him at all ages with friends and family, an old expensive looking camera lay on his bedside table accompanied by his diary.

He placed the almost empty mug into the sink and sluggishly slid his way inside his bedroom. Picking up a small black plastic container from his desk and sliding it into his schoolbags front pocket he left for school locking the door behind him.

As Jake got closer to the schools front door he turned left into the empty car park where he noticed the short, brown haired kid he knew as Tom.

“Well do u have it?”

“of Corse I do” Jake answered blankly taking the plastic container out of his pocket and tossing it with an underhand pass  to Tom.
