SansPOV
"Heeey Sans!!!" I blinked open my eyes from sleep at the sound of Mabel's voice. For some reason, the girl had just left for school over at the Ruins, but she's already back, cheerful as always. I heaved myself off of the couch, stretching limbs. Yawning, I murmured a quiet greeting, collecting my thoughts from the sudden awakening. "Heya kid, what'd you forget?" The brunette let out a tiny giggle, dashing my way and leaping into my arms. "No, silly, Mom said I could have the school day off, since she had to get last minute shopping supplies before the holidays." I nodded in understanding, allowing Mabel to slowly release her grip off of my. I moved my hands back into my hoodie pockets, the last of my drowsiness drifting away.
A few moments of silence drifted between us, making the feeling in the air getting thicker, and the rumbling feeling of awkwardness rising in my chest. Even though it was short-lived, I could sense the uncomfortable feeling from a mile away. However, it quickly disappeared as Mabel gave another grin, striking up conversation. "So, since I have the day off, why don't we go to the surface for a date?" I glanced up at the ceiling for a moment, quickly deciding whether that was a good idea or not. However, nothing negative came to mind, and I nodded in agreement, giving a wide, toothy grin. "Sure, that sounds great."
A few hours of walking around Gravity Falls, things got kinda boring. It seems as if we've already done everything there possibly was to do in the little town. However, I didn't want to say anything, since Mabel seemed to be enjoying herself, and it was her idea to begin with. The girl bounded a few steps ahead of me, letting out little giggles as she lead the way around Gravity Falls. As we reached a little store, not that far from the underground entrance and the Mystery Shack. As we neared the door, Mabel turned it open, but as soon as she opened the door and stepped inside, she placed a firm and warm palm on my skull, forcefully pushing against it, making me stumble back a few paces. "Hey, what was that for kiddo?" Mabel gave a grin, showing her silver braces before replying. "I'm gonna go in here for a few minutes, Imma just grab something and be right back out. Promise, Kay?" I rolled my "eyes," giving a short nod. The girl smiled once more, before disappearing into the store.
As I waited for the girl to return, I took a deep breath, and closed my eyes for a moment. I soon reopened them though as soon as the feeling of drowsiness began to grab my sleeves. I glanced up at the sky, long streams of gray clouds stretching across it. As for someone who spent most of their life Underground, it's nice to look up at the sky every once in a while. After all, its a freedom that was just given for us monsters not too long ago. I continued to gaze up at the sky, thoughts of the past, and how I didnt know this sky existed until just recently. As the memories started to flow back, an interruption cut through them, making me jump out of my daydreams in response.
"I'm back! Sorry for taking so long!" Mabel hugged me around the neck from behind, her warm body pressing against my bony frame. I shook my head in argument, grabbing her legs and wrapping them around my waist, carrying her on my back. "Nah, you're fine kid. You at least satisfied for the day?"
"Mm-hmm!" the girl rested her chin on my shoulder, her hands dangling slightly in front my chest. "What did you even buy, anyways?" I asked curiously, seeing that she didn't come out with a bag or anything. Mabel let out a giggle, and just replied with a "Its a secret!" I sighed, giving a chuckle afterwards. "Fine, fine then. Let's just get home already. You okay with that?" Mabel gave a short nod, and as if that was my cue, I started to head back towards the Underground once more, back into the place that I've lived in for so long.

"Welp, we're back." I sighed, as I let Mabel off of my back, pushing the door to the house open. The girl dashed inside, jumping on the couch, and sitting criss-cross on a lumpy cushion. I laughed a little, as I closed the door behind me, walking over to sit down beside her. "Hey, that's my seat," I said as I sat down on the couch, watching Mabel grab a box that was labeled "Pocky" out of her sweater pocket. Mabel just giggled, as she tore open the bag, revealing a package of what seemed to be chocolate-covered sticks. "Im guessing thats what you got at the store?" I questioned, pointing to the package. Mabel nodded, handing me one. "Here, stick this end in your mouth." Obeying, I took it and stuck it in between my teeth. "'Kay, now wha-" I was suddenly cut off as Mabel took the end of the stick in her mouth, pressing her lips to my teeth. My eyes widened in shock, my cheeks flushing color in shock, taking a few moments to process what was going on.
After a few moments of complete silence, Mabel pulled away, biting her half of the stick off. Gulping my half down, I sank my face in my hoodie, becoming highly embarased and too shocked to speak. I don't think she was too, because her's was bright red, and she gave me an awkward smile, before dashing up to my room, and locking the door behind her.
I was still smiling, but I was screaming with confusion on the inside.
I realized the reason why I was smiling...
Was because I was happy
Anyways, hope you all enjoyed, and hope to see you all next time! Feel free to hit me with requests!
