".... and that's how it all happened..." Bex typed as she recalled the past events. It all started when she and her partner Wilden had been given an assignment on the death of a young man named John Grayson.
"Well, it looks like a suicide to me," Wilden said as Bex inspected the body hanging from the ceiling fan. she looked around, she saw that the front door had not been locked. Bex walked around the apartment and reached the kitchen. Inside the fridge, was a chicken that had been marinated. "Why would a person knew they were going to suicide marinate a chicken as if preparing to eat it later?" Bex questioned Wilden while showing him a John's fridge. "Also, if you were going to suicide, wouldn't you want some privacy?" Bex mentioned, pointing to the unlocked door. "I guess we can mark this case as murder." Wilden replied.
"We need more evidence than just a marinated chicken and an unlocked door to convince the Chief that it wasn't a suicide," Wilden told Bex. Bex walked around John's body once more and spotted rope burns on John's wrists, it seems..." "... as if he was tied onto something, like a chair. Good job Bex!" said Wilden. "Wilden, there's more, notice these cuts on the body? It shows that John must have been dragged somewhere." "Which probably explains why the floor is marked with John's shoes! I'm so smart!"exclaimed Wilden. "Sure..." Bex replied sarcastically.
"OK... I've got a list of possible suspects, Stacey- John's crazy ex-girlfriend, she kept sending him threatening letters after John broke up with her. Possible motive- jealousy." Bex read out. "Wow, that sounds a little too extreme. Hasn't she heard the saying 'Build a bridge and get over it?'" asked Wilden. " We have 1 more suspect, Jake. John had owed Jake some money, but failed to repay all of it. Possible motive-enmity or restlessness. Well, that's about it, John seems like a pretty decent guy to me." Bex sighed whilst rubbing her eyes. "Hey, great work today, we'll solve the rest of it tomorrow." Wilden said as he noticed how tired Bex was.
"No, don't do it..."Wilden muttered as he tried to get control of himself. But it was too late,he already did it. He gasped as he saw the blood all over his hands. He quickly tried to cover up his traces, he stashed the body into a cupboard. There was one thing that Wilden missed, covering up his bloody fingerprints.
Sirens blazed loudly around a house as Wilden walked toward a new crime site. " This one is a bit gruesome, there are 2 slits across the victim's neck. We found a few bloody fingerprints, but that's about it." Bex finished as she handed him his coffee."Let me go see the body,"Wilden said as he walked toward the house. Bex couldn't help but notice that something was off about Wilden today. She tried to shake the feeling off, but wasn't able to. Wilden walked with a limp, as it someone had hit him. He got frustrated at little things like how Bex had put 2 spoonfuls of sugar into his coffee instead of 3. He usually just shrugged it off. Something was not okay about Wilden and Bex intended to find out what it was.
Bex took a sample of the fingerprints found inside the victim's house, the fingerprints looked strangely similar to Wildens. "Hey Wliden, I found something common between the 2 murders, the same fingerprints were found in both the houses." Bex revealed as she looked at Wilden's reaction to the information. Wilden's face wore an expression of surprise and fear. Why would Wilden be scared? Something was definitely wrong.
Later, Bex managed to get hold of Wilden's fingerprints and they matched with the ones found in the victims' houses."But why would Wilden kill those innocent people, that's not like Wilden at all." Bex muttered to herself.
"You have to eliminate the girl, she's onto us" "No, I refuse to kill her"Wilden snarled trying to get a hold of himself. "You cannot let her tell the authorities, you have to wipe her out!" "There has to be another way! I can't kill another person, let alone her!" Wilden whispered frantically trying to think of a way out. " If you aren't going to kill her, I will!"
"Has Wilden been acting strange recently?" Bex questioned Wilden's girlfriend Amy."Sort of, he has been acting skittish these past few weeks," Amy replied. "Anything else?"asked Bex. "Wilden acts strange during the night, he gets violent really easily. One second he's gentle and loving, the next he's mean and stiff." Amy responded. "Thank you for your time."said Bex, her mind somewhere else.
"Wilden is smart enough to know that I'm onto him, he'll come for me next."Bex realised, knowing that she had to take some kind of action. Bex went home and started to type an e-mail." I know who the culprit is but I don't know why he did it. That's up to you to find out. It was Wilden but it wasn't Wilden at the same time. Wilden suffers from a split - personality disorder, his other side comes out at night. Wilden didn't know that it was him committing the murders, I don't know how he got to know, but I know that he is coming for me." Bex typed faster as she heard someone coming up the stairs. "That's how it all happened. I don't know who you are but do something before Wilden attacks again." Bex finished, sending the e-mail just as the door opened revealing Wilden's split-personality. " You should have kept your nose out of other people's business when you had the chance and now you have to pay for it." growled Wilden stabbing Bex as her ear-splitting scream pierced the air.
