"Alright you won again Travena may we go home now?" Travis said in a slightly irritated tone. "Very well" she replied in a smug way. They rode back at a trot so the horses could regain some of their lost energy. It also allowed them to talk about the upcoming season. "Well Mary seems very excited for the season" said Traven. "Yes she is and so am I. Aren’t u Travena?" "Yes I am this is my first season I will enjoy it" "Good ha-ha. Where should we go first?" he asked. "Well I know we will have to go to the royal ball in Cracow" she replied. " I think we should go to our estates in the Germen principalities, France, England, and Ireland" "Why England?" she asked. "Remember we have 10 estates there and we may be invited to the royal ball as well" "I see and what makes you think we are going to the royal ball in England" "There is more than one Travena. Besides our family was invited there last year" "yes but remember we may not be invited again" "I know that, but I can hope can’t I" "But of course" she said laughing. She nearly fell off her horse but regain her balance. They reached the stables an hour later and proceeded to the house. The mansion was two stories and it had 200 rooms. It was white on the outside with balconies on the upper floor. They entered through the French doors that lead to a sitting room. "Well I’m going to take a nap before supper" Travena said. "I’m going the library to read" Travis replied. Back in the gardens. Mary woke up slowly and rubbed her eyes slowly. "Oh what time is it" she asked to herself. She got up and walk back to the house. Her dress was swaying all the way. She went to her room and rung for a maid. A few minutes a maid came in. "Yes madam. What do you require?" she asked. "I wish to change in a more comfortable gown for dinner Anne" Mary replied "Yes miss but which one?" "The green silk one with the silver lace" "Yes miss Mary" Anne replied. Anne helped Mary undress to her kirtle. She helped Mary into the gown. "No headdress Anne" "Yes miss" she said as put the headdress back and left. Mary sat on the bed and read from the book she held. She had gotten the book while Anne was getting her gown. The Fashion of the day expected ladies to wear headdresses. But the Krakowski women never wore headdresses unless invited to a royal ball. "Oh dear I forgot my reading glasses in the dining room" she waved her hand and her glasses appeared. The Krakowski family had a few witches and warlocks in it. But they used their magic very little only when they felt like it. Of course no one outside the family knew of this. A person who married into the family had to swear never to tell anyone of this. If anyone found out they all might be burned or hanged. They had no contact with the dark arts or Satan in anyway. They were very devote Catholics. There was a knock on Mary’s door an hour later. "Who is it?" she asked "It’s Travis Mary" "Oh alright come in" she replied. He opened and closed the door. He was wearing a black outfit. He had an emerald ring on his pointer finger in his left hand. "I’m here to escort you to dinner Mary." "I know and I’m thankful you for that brother dear" she said laughingly. "I love that sense of humor you Mary" "Thank you Travis ha-ha" she replied. She got the bed and put her book away. She went over to him and he offered his arm to her. She took the offer and put her arm through the hole between his elbow and his side. They walked out of the room and down the hall. They came to a spiral staircase and they walked down it. Then they went down another hall and turned right and came into the dining room where most of the family was waiting for them. Travena was missing from the group. "Where is Travena?" Travis asked when he was seated at the head of the table. "No one is sure" said his Aunt Matileda. She was a thin woman with her black hair piled on top of her head. She was 57 years old and a wise and thoughtful woman. "We have to find her" said Mary. Just then Travena walked in and said "I have to fly to 1 of our estates in France". "Why is that Travena" Travis asked. "Our cousin Madeline is sick and dieing and i wish to be with her when she passes" "I will come with you then" said Mary. "Ok but pack your bags quickly we have to leave in an hour" Travena replied. Mary packed two medium sized bags. She had enough clothes for six days. An hour later they both walked down the grand staircase in the the entrance hall. They both wore thicker dresses because there was a chill in the air. "Well we're off" said Travena. They said goodbye to all their relatives and set of. They walked a few feet infront of the entrance to the house. Travena and Mary held out two brooms and held them up. The brooms lifted them up a into the air. They swung their legs over the order side of the broom to get balence on them. Travena pointed to a star in the west. She says "We will follow that star it will guide us to cousin Madeline" "Ok lets go" Mary replies. They point their brooms in the direction of the star and lean forward. Then they take off in a sudden burst of speed with their dresses futtering.
