*Jamie's Pov*
Me and Tyler have been friends since the beginning of the high school. It's about half way through our grade 10 year and we are closer than ever. It's weird. Unlike any other friendship I've ever had. I have three sisters and haven't been around boys much so when I met Tyler, I was thrilled because I knew we would become the best of friends. There is only one problem...
"Hey Jamie, how much longer are ya gonna be up there?"
You see right now he's waiting for me to get ready. We are going to a party hosted by Amy aka the most popular girl in 10th grade, not to mention Tyler has the biggest crush on her. Amy is okay, we became friends a few months ago, and ever since then Tyler has been hooked.
"I'm coming right now, sorry Ty. I was just lost in thought, getting my shoes on!""We're gonna be late, your mom is already waiting in the car" he laughed
My mom adores Tyler, like the son she's never had. Ever since he came over for a project last year they have actually become really close. They love chatting while waiting for me to get ready and sometimes I wake up late to find them sitting at the dining table eating breakfast together. This might have to do with the fact that Tyler's mom died when he was four, I think it's great for them to be close especially because when Tyler's around, my mom doesn't care what I do or what time I get home, as long as I'm with Tyler I am safe she says. He loves her too.
"Okay,okay. I'm ready to go"
"Let's party!" He laughs walking out the door and hoping in to the back of the van.
"Do I look okay Tyler? I don't think I'm dressed up enough" I ask, I'm wearing black jeans, converse and a light blue crop top.
"You look good, as always. Do you even have to ask?" He smiles and interlocks our fingers. You see we tend to do this a lot, which has our whole school and even parents thinking we are more than friends but we've never been more. Most days I spend the time between classes trying to convince girls we are not a couple, which most of them are relieved by. I guess I can't blame them, we do act like a couple sometimes. We ride to school in the mornings together but that's just because he lives a few houses down, he holds my hand occasionally, he walks me to class, okay so I totally understand why people think that. We are just friends. That's all we will ever be.
