Joker and Harley ran through the city. Harley had never felt more alive. They took cans of spray paint and drew their faces on blank walls everywhere. They took cans of silly string and used them on every tree they could find. The wind blew and the lights twinkled in the night sky. Harley knew this was the path she was meant to take. She would give anything to stay with Joker.
"Harley, I want to take you to one more place," Joker smiled at her as they ran through the streets of Gotham.
"Where?" Harley yelled back.
"My home..." He grinned mysteriously.
Harley didn't realize it at first, but Joker was not taking her to a street or a house, he was taking her to the chemical plant. The closer they got, the more Harley realized where they were going. They arrived a few minutes later at the abandoned building.
"I want to show you where the Joker was born," he led her into a room filled with vats of green chemicals.
"This is where you fell?"
"Yes, but see, that's not why I brought you here. I'm going to tell you a secret and you are going to tell me one of yours." Joker looked into Harley's eyes.
"I was glad when I fell into the vat."
Harley was a bit surprised to hear this. She never expected him to be happy that he became the Joker. I guess it's my turn, Harley thought.
"Well... my secret is that I can't swim... and I think I'm in love with you," Joker seemed somewhat surprised,
"Well then Harley, I have a question for you," Harley stared at him and then looked towards the ground shyly.
"Would you die for me,"
"Yes,"
"No, no that's too easy... would you, would you live for me?"
"Yes,"
"Careful, don't say things you aren't sure you mean," Harley wanted to prove that she loved him, but she wasn't quite sure how. She looked down at the chemicals below her. Harley turned to Joker and put up her arms. She then fell off of the platform and into the chemicals. Joker was annoyed at her actions. Mainly because he loved her and knew he had to save her. It wasn't the "Joker" thing to do. He started to walk away, but changed his mind and jumped in after her....
