Melissa

Melissa woke up to the smell of bacon. Her stomach growled in anticipation. She got up did her daily morning routine and headed downstairs.

"I smell food!" she said, hugging her mom.

"Girl, have a seat it will be done in a minute," her mom said laughing at her.

Melissa sat at the kitchen table. She was checking her messages, when the door burst open.

"You're living at home now. I don't care what you want to do."

"Momma it's not fair! Why do I have to live at home? I'm missing out on the college experience."

"Oh, I think you've had enough of the college "experience" young lady."

"Dad-"

"No, don't dad me. You're living here. Your school is not even that far away. That's final."

"My gosh!"

Melissa watched as her sister and dad bickered. It ended with her sister flopping down in the chair with her head in her hands.

"Hey Meagan."

She didn't respond. Whatever, Melissa thought.

Breakfast was rather... silent.

"Oh mom can I go out with Gabby and Jessica today?"

"Yeah that's fine."

"Ok thanks."

She took her plate to the sink and washed it. She went upstairs to get dressed. She threw on some shorts and her Mickey Mouse shirt and called Jessica.

"What's bitch!"

"Hey Jessica. Where you at?"

"I'm on my way to get you, I got Gabby too, hold on."

Melissa waited a few seconds, and then she heard Gabby's voice.

"Hey chica! We almost there, like 5 minutes and we will be at your door. I was thinking we go to the mall and later maybe dinner and a movie?"

"Yes! That sounds really good. I'mma be waiting outside for ya'll."

She hung up and then made her way downstairs. She loved hanging with her girls. They were crazy and she loved them. She walked into the living room and she heard her sister on the phone.

"I can't believe this either. I don't want to be here. I miss you guys already."

Melissa shook her head. She should just suck it up and just deal with it. It was her fault acting wild and who knows what else. Their dad found out everything. She shoulda went to college out of state.

"Bye Meagan."

"Hold on. Bye Melissa. Oh and you know if you see something I would like, get it so we can share," she said tossing some money to her.

She blew a kiss and went back to her conversation. They had a weird relationship kind of. They were best friends, then they fought, then they were back to best friends. I guess that's normal Melissa thought.

She heard the horn and ran outside.

"Hey girl," Jessica shouted over the music blaring. No Love Chris Brown ft. Nicki Minaj was playing extra loud.
