Parties had always been my thing; I was the ultimate party queen. I could dance for England and I once in a while took over from the DJ; learning my tricks from my dad, I was the only girl that could actually DJ in the whole of NYHS. Everything added up to make me the most popular girl in school, everyone knew me and I knew everyone. Don’t get me wrong, your stereotypical popular girl was blonde, skinny and a cheerleader. I am the cheerleading captain and I’m fairly skinny but my hair is shoulder length and full of coloured extensions, so that I had multi-coloured hair. I guess you could call me scene.  I’d spotted Sean, the guy I’d been crushing on since he exchanged from Birmingham, England last year and decided it was time he was my guy. He had an amazing accent but the added bonus was that he was hot. He wore clothes that put him into the Gangsta category but something about that style for him was good.

I had a clear view and was hoping that I looked okay. I mean, wearing a £300.00 dress from Ted Baker had to make me look attractive, didn’t it? I walked across the room, Sean in my sight when Jay my ex-boyfriend slid into my path. I smelt a heavy scent of alcohol and stepped back a little, I looked up ready to tell him to move when he started to speak.

“Baby, it’s been a long time since I saw you last. Shame, isn’t it Alicia Shannon Mariah?” He dragged out my name; I suspected a slight teasing in his tone. He still made me feel so special; he knew that. But when your boyfriend sleeps with your best friend, you automatically know that nothing will ever happen again.

“Hmmm, hard to recognise you without a skank on your arm, James Ewen Stevens.” I always tried to reciprocate anything that he said to me, trying to keep the scoreboard my way. But, however I always failed. Grinning, he gave me a quick once over.

“I always loved that dress, but you look even more amazing with it off. Trust me I know, don’t I?” He face stretched out into a big, sexy smile.

“Please don’t remind me.”

“Mhmm... let’s dance” He grabbed me and pulled me in for a slow dance, I stole a glance to see where Sean was. However, he was gone. Once the song had finished, I turned to walk away from Jay but he pulled me back. Crushing his lips down to mine, I felt them pull at the corners. He was smiling; I had images of myself slapping him round the race when his tongue slid along my bottom lip leaving a hot line. I opened my mouth allowing him to win, his smile increased and he knew that I was once again under his control. “That’s my girl.” Looking down I accepted defeat, he lead me to the bar where he ordered two drink that I didn’t even hear and gave me one. It was neon green, my favourite colour; touching our glasses together, he drank his. He looked at me expectantly and I did the same. “Everyone’s gonna be so happy that the ‘it couple’ are back together again.” I grimaced at his word but almost half the senior year just saw us kiss. I excused myself to run to the toilet and quickly checked my make-up. Flicking open my compact, I powdered my nose, reapplied my lip gloss and walked back to Jay.

“Ready to go?”

“Go where?”

“My place.” Winking, he took my arm, pulling me toward the exit where a long stretched limo was waiting. Did I forget to mention Jay was rich? His dad made his money on the diamond mines and his mum with her special skin formula for softer skin. This was Jay’s personal limo, I’d been in there before when we’d previously dated. His chauffeur opened the door and he climbed in, extended his hand and helped me in. The doors locked and Jay sat right at the back, I crawled down the front to shut the hole where the driver could see what we were doing and grinned back at Jay. He looked impressed; there was something about Jay that brought out my bad side even when I was meant to hate him. “I invited a couple of friends back as well but only me and my girl ride the limo”

“Who exactly?” My eyes narrowed, he annoyed me when he did that.

“No need to give me that look babe, you’ll have me all to yourself later. I invited.... erm... Skillz, Ste, Mark, Jason and Sean.” The last name stopped me right in my tracks. Sean? Crap. Jay motioned for me to come sit next to him; I crawled up the limo but sat across him on his lap. He grinned and rolled over so that he was on top of me and we had a full on make out on the way back to his. When we finally reached I pulled myself away from him, he grinned down at me. “You still got it baby.”

Climbing out of the limo we were met by everyone that Jay had invited, noticing they were all guys. We went down to Jay’s part of the house where his parents never came, (mainly because they were never there but still). I quickly went up to Jay’s room while the others got comfortable to put my stuff away and kicked off my heels. Walking into Jay’s den they were all gathered round the poker table.

“Heyy Lis, guess what we’re playing” Skillz said with a laugh. I looked at him sceptically and went to sit next to Jay.

“Poker, obviously, that why we’re sitting round a poker table.”

“Not just any poker babe, strip poker” Jay whispered into my ear.

“B-But I’m the only girl.” I looked at Jay demandingly, sending him the I’m-not-doing-it look.

“C’mon Lis, don’t be a pussy”

“Don’t worry babe, I know how good you are at poker that’s why I chose it.” I looked all around the table, and growled at the rest of them then gave Jay a long hot kiss.

“That’s all you’re getting if I win” All the rest erupted in laughter but Jay gave me his determined look.

“You’re going down babe.”
