Fireboy (a Zuko x OC fanfiction)

Chapter 2

I built that tunnel with my earth bending when I was 16 so I could leave and train at night. No I'm not the avatar because Aang was still alive. He lived at the palace along with his friends and of course Firelord Zuko. I don't know what I am exactly all I know is that I have more powers than the avatar surprisingly. I can control all the elements, of course, but I can also bend plants and other things like metal, shadows, and blood. I'm able to communicate with animals and can create illusions. It's weird, yes, and I found out about my abilities when I was 14. I've trained ever since then after I almost burnt the tea shop down.

I silently practiced being sure not to wake anyone up or alert the guards of what was happening just outside their capital. I waited till I could see the sun rising before I stopped practicing and went back to the tea shop.

I was in my daily attire when people started running passed. There obviously was a huge commotion because everyone was wearing fancy clothes and the screaming of 20 year-olds could be heard in Ba sing Se. I covered my ears when I saw Lixen and Sora run passed me in their best clothes. Before I could open my eyes everyone in the shop was gone and I was left in an empty shop. I sighed as I cleaned up and I couldn't help but wonder what was going on.

It was almost dark now and neither Lixen nor Sora has returned yet. No one has stepped foot in the shop but I could still hear the commotion outside. I flipped the closed sign and decided to find out what was going on. I went to the cellar and locked the door as if I decided to sleep. I went through the secret tunnel after I changed into my black clothing. I could see lights surrounding the center of the village so I swiftly jumped onto a roof and ran swiftly yet quietly to the center of the city.

I was hiding in the shadows as I observed and it all made sense. Firelord Zuko was hosting what looked like a party or ball (sorry I don't know what to call it). Everyone in the capital and maybe a few from other nations were here. I would go but that means being seen and I can't do that. I was going to leave when I felt a presence behind me......

Aang POV

Zuko said we were going to have a ball because he needs to find a wife. Mai left a while ago after they decided to go separate way. I knew Zuko still had some feelings for her but he needed a partner at his side. He also needed to meet someone to have an heir. Everyone in the capital would be there and even a few higher ups from the other nations.

I was in an outfit I wore when Zuko first became Firelord. He was wearing his Firelord outfit and sat in the throne while everyone else socialized. I was starting to feel a little crowded so I found Katara and told her I was going to go get some fresh air.

"Okay, just be back soon when all the eligible girls will present themselves to Zuko. He might pick one or he may not but we have to be there." I nodded before exiting quickly. The fresh air was refreshing and I sighed happily. I was looking around when I thought I spotted movement on top of a roof. I was going to shake it off but remembered that Zuko's sister, Azula, was still out there somewhere. I snuck up onto the roof and quietly walked to the shadowy figure. She suddenly turned around and I was surprised beyond belief when I saw her eyes and hair. They were PURPLE!! The moon pointed a spotlight on her before she ducked beck into the shadows.

"Who are you?" She stayed silent and I knew she was thinking.

"I'm not going to hurt you." I moved towards her when I saw a certain look in her eyes. Before I could do anything images flashed through my head of all my fears. I was shaking and collapsed when they stopped. I looked towards where she was only to see her gone. I quickly got up and searched for her. I looked in every alley and every dark corner before going back to the tent in the center of town. I walked through the opening in the back and immediately went to Zuko.

"Zuko, I have to tell you something important." He side glanced at me before nodded. I guess he realized I was serious by the look on my face.

"I'm going to get the others but meet me in the palace." He nodded again as he stood up to announce his departure. I went and rounded up everyone and we quickly went to the palace.

"Why are we here? I have to go back soon I just said I had urgent business to talk about and would be back soon." Aang sighed before beginning to explain what happened.

"So you meet a weird girl with purple hair and she disappeared?" Toph crossed her arms and shook her head.

"Yes, believe me when I say her hair was purple as well as her eyes. I've never seen her before and I've met everyone in the capital."

"How do you know she isn't from another nation?" Suki looked at me as she stood next to Sokka.

"Yeah I mean she could be from somewhere else. You don't know everyone in the world." Sokka agreed with Suki and Katara nodded as well.

"No, everyone that came from other nations wore their colors. She was wearing black like she didn't want to be seen." No one said anything and we were left in silence as everyone thought.

"I need to find her...I-I think there is something different about her?" I said remembering what went through my mind.

"What do you mean? You only met her for a couple minutes," Zuko said angrily. I looked at him with all seriousness.

"I saw a weird look in her eyes like she was staring into my soul then all of a sudden my head was flooded with images of my biggest fears. When they stopped she was gone. I think she did it I feel it." Now everyone was confused.

"Look, if Aang thinks we need to find this girl then we will. By the sound of it she only comes out at night, so we'll search for her then." I smiled happily at Katara.

"I'm gonna go into town more often I mean you never know she could be in disguise." Everyone nodded except Zuko.

"I don't know if I can help you on this one but I'll see what I hear, okay? Now come on we got to go back." He left immediately after that and we all just looked at each other before following.
