Chapter 3

Ariella's POV

Oh boy I am so stupid. I can't believe I got caught by the avatar. Thankfully I got away without showing any of my abilities aside from the illusion, but its fine. I don't think he'll find me anyway. He didn't even hear me speak so no way of recognizing me, right?

It was light by the time the devils got back. I already had the shop open so they just walked in opened the cash box, took what was in there, and left being sure to call me names before going. I sighed as I looked out the window. I rested my head on my hand as I thought about last night. I have to be more careful now.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when the bell rang on the door. I looked up to see that pervert again. Oh boy just my luck. Could things get any worse?

"Hey sweet cheeks, I'm here to pick up Sora and Lixen. We are going to a nearby town for a few days. Wish you could come and keep me company, but they said no." He gave me a disgusting smile I gagged in my head and backed away. They were going away for a few days? YES! That means I can relax and actually go outside and feel the sun on my skin. Oh I can go around the city, too. I was mentally jumping with joy till they came down.

"We're going to be gone for a few days. Now when we get back I want to see at least 20 silver pieces in that cash box. If not then you'll be in big trouble understand, b!+ch." Lixen was frowning at me all I did was nodded my head nervously to keep up the act. He smiled evil before saying good then they left taking pervy with them. It can get worse apparently. We don't earn over ten silver pieces in three days how am I going to get 20 of them in three days? I sighed and banged my head on the table.

It was almost closing and no one came in. I'm never going to hear the end of it. Now, you're probably thinking why don't I just leave since I'm so powerful? Well the thing is I don't want people to know about my powers and besides I have nowhere to go nor money to go anywhere.

I was sweeping and tidying up when the bell rang on the door. I had my back to the door and couldn't see who came in but I had already put the tea away and I wasn't in a good mood to put up with people.

"Sorry, but we're closed please come back tomorrow." Yes, please come back tomorrow with 20 silver coins.

"Oh, um I was hoping I could ask you something." I sighed and put the broom against the counter. I turned around to see a blind girl with her hair up and no shoes next to a girl in a blue dress with her hair put into a typical water tribe hairstyle.

"Look lady, we got important stuff to do so answer our question." I looked at the blind girl. She reminded me of someone but I couldn't place it.

"Fine, but be quick I have to close up the shop." The girl in blue nodded.

"Well we were wondering if you have seen anyone um different around the capital. About your age...um...a friend of ours saw someone and we need to find her." It clicked they were friends with Aang, Katara and Toph. Oh no this is not good, at all. I calmed myself because I know Toph can tell if I'm lying. I tried to think of a good answer to get them to leave.

"You're taking an awfully long time to answer, is there something wrong?" Toph smirked and I sighed.

"I'm sorry I was thinking and no I haven't seen anyone out of the ordinary."

"Were you at the ball last night?" I gulped and shook my head.

"No I didn't have good clothes to wear besides I'm not interested in crowded places." I was starting to get nervous and I knew that Toph would be able to sense it soon.

"Look I have to close or the owner will get angry, thank you for stopping by." I pushed them out and quickly locked the door before hiding in the cellar. I have to go, they will be suspicious now.

Aang's POV

I have searched all night after the ball and I couldn't find her. I was pacing around the palace when suddenly Toph and Katara came running in.

"We found someone who knows something; she works at a tea shop on the far side of the city." Katara was breathing hard and I knew she ran all the way back.

"Are you sure?" I couldn't believe it I was so curious about her.

"Yes, twinkletoes, I could feel her getting nervous." I was smiling and hugged Katara and Toph before sprinting out the door. I was almost out the place when I was stopped by Sokka.

"We should wait till tomorrow when she opens the shop. Well wait around the tea shop till closing then we will go in and confront her." I nodded my head happy I could finally meet her.

"Okay so who is going?" I asked as I looked at everyone.

"We should all go." I jumped when I heard Zuko. I turned to look at him and he was dressed casual for once.

"Yeah that may be a good idea cause we don't know if we'll run into the mystery girl or not." I nodded after Suki stopped and we all split up to get some sleep.
