It was that one night that I came home from work to find my house oddly quiet. The lights are out, and it looked strangely deserted. I shook it off and climbed up the steps of the front porch. The door was unlocked meaning there were inhabitants inside. I walked inside, and was instantly relieved. A massive "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" was screamed and the lights were suddenly turned back on, and I found my entire family was gathered behind the breakfast bar, holding onto balloons, streamers and party poppers. My mum was the first person to reach me, and she scooped me up into a massive hug, and then proceeded to squeeze me so hard that i was finding it difficult to breathe. When she let me go I sucked in a massive lungful of sweet oxygen, then allowed myself to be passed around by my family members who were relentlessly wishing me a happy birthday. A cake was brought out my my dad, and i blew the candles out, while wishing for a laptop. After the cake was passed out, eaten and enjoyed, the presents were presented proudly on the table, an I did a double-take t how many my family had spent on me. Out of ten people, there were at least fifteen gifts sitting on the table, and i started shaking my head. "Guys, this is too much, I mean I'm only 19 today". This was greeted with a stern "No returns" from my dad. So sighing in defeat, i opened all fifteen to find a laptop, phone, a book series, headphones and its of amazing things that my family had gifted me with. "Oh my God, thank you so much guys!" knowing i sound like an overly perky advert, i quickly add "Thanks for the presents!". The night went on, and after a while we all went home, and went to sleep. And that is my most recent happy memory. I am Fiona Green, and now i am officially family free and 19.
