Caity POV (obviously)

I was playing with my friend Lilly in my house. Lilly and I have been friends since FOREVER, we did everything together, and I mean everything. The only time we weren't together was in a few classes since I'm more advanced than her especially in language arts. Lilly rang my doorbell 5 times doing our secret doorbell chime. I run to the door before my momma could even think about the door since she was in the kitchen making dinner. I opened it, a big bright smile on my face at the sight of my best friend.

"Lilly!" I yelled excitingly. "Caity!" she yelled in response. "I got something cool to show you. We have a third best friend now!" she said, so happy, but I was really dumb for not questioning it enough. Really dumb...

I gave Lilly a confused look as if she just told me she had superpowers. "His name is Laughing Jack. He is a silly clown that likes to play with me and teach me new things, I told him about you and he said he wanted to meet you." I nodded, smiling. "Well, where is he?" I asked looking around outside. Lilly looked around too, "Oh he must have hidden somewhere, he gets scared of new people easily." she said. "Well call him, we can't be friends if he won't talk to me," I said pouting a bit. Lilly smiled brightly, "Okay. Jack! Laughing Jack! Come out! Caity wants to be your friend too!"

I looked around for him. I wish she never met him, I wish I never met him, but most of all, I wish I never saw him.

He appeared in front of me, his skin was so... pale. He had a long black and white striped nose. He wore black and white, so much black and white. He had eyes like any other person but his had black under them like he hadn't slept in so long, and his pupils were so tiny and filled with madness, we made eye contact and chills went down my spine like I was suddenly standing in the middle of the snow on a cold winter night without any clothes. He gave me a wide smile, his mouth filled with pointy teeth that could chomp off an arm in one bite. His arms were extra long

He was a clown, but not any ordinary clown, a killer one. Except, Lilly and I just didn't know it yet. Lilly and I would always play with Jack. He spent most of the time with Lilly, but sometimes I would catch him in my room sitting in a corner, staring at me. He would laugh in the corner, I was always scared to sleep because of that. It went from a few times to all the time. Every night, he sat, he watched, he laughed and I never slept.

One day, I finally was done. I was scared and tired, I sat up and screamed at him, "GET OUT YOU STUPID CLOWN! GET OUT MY ROOM NOW!!!" he then would laugh even more. I huddled on my bed and cried. My momma ran into the room, worry all over her face. "Honey, what are you yelling at?" she asked me. I sniffled and pointed to the corner, "Jack won't leave me alone momma." My momma looked at the corner and while I saw him sitting there, she did not. My momma smiled at me, "Just go to sleep and ignore Jack okay? He is just a figment of your imagination which means he can not hurt you." I looked at the corner once more and he was gone, "Okay..." I said laying back down and closing my eyes. My momma left the room, turning out the light.

I slept that night, but how was I suppose to know that he left because that evil clown had a plan.

I woke up the next day, I felt better after finally getting some sleep. I smiled and then looked at the corner of my room where the sunlight could not hit, I looked at that dark and little corner to see black ooze filled with little colorful candies in it. My eyes widened, I got up and took off out my door as fast as I could. I ran down the stairs and went to my momma who was cooking breakfast. "I'm going to Lilly's ill be back in a bit," I said running out the door, I heard her mention something about the foods almost ready, but I didn't even have an appetite.
