After their flight Hiccup landed little off the castle's ground and into a mountainside cliff.

"That was amazing!" Merida shouted excitedly.

Hiccup didn't say anything but instead stood in the cliff, looking at the castle's view from afar.
Merida noticed this and walked over and joined him.

"Why don't you just leave...that castle....you don't seem happy there." Merida burst out softly.

Hiccup didn't respond and ignored her but Merida didn't stop she had many questions but she didn't want to step in territory she wasn't suppose to. She was conflicted by this beast, through the amount of time they had spent together they had learned many things about each other but she couldn't help but feel that there was something he wasn't telling her. He was....mysterious in many ways she could think of and she found herself intrigued by him.

"I mean you have the opportunity to enjoy life and explore new grounds and actually be free! Not like others who can't, and will never be able to have that opportunity." Merida looked down in a sadden motion.

"Yes, a person can be free to go and find adventure and explore but you have to know freedom can have two meanings..." Hiccup turned and looked at her.

"What do you mean?" Merida asked confused.

"Freedom isn't just something you live but it's something you feel. There isn't a point to live freedom if you can't feel it. Sometimes you can't find freedom out there because your past or something is retraining you from feeling that from inside you. You must have both to be able to feel and live that freedom and if you don't what's the point of it all." Hiccup returned looking at the castle.

Silence passed between them, but Merida could only think of one question to ask.

"If you had the chance to change your fate, would you?"

Hiccup turned towards her in surprise but then his eyes lowered to the ground in a sadden motion.

"I-........I-" Hiccup was at lost in words, usually this was the part where he would immediately say yes, but something was holding him back and he didn't know what it was.
"I don't know........... fate is something we can't predict, and can't force or dodge it."

"There are those who say fate is something beyond our command, that destiny is not our own. But I know better. Our fate lives within us....you only have to be brave enough to see it...." Merida quietly remarked as she looked out to the view before them.

Hiccup turn and looked at her and again her hair danced in flames through the air, she had aura of bravery and determination around her. And he admire her for that, she was someone who didn't give up and was to stubborn to do so but at the same time was gentle when time called for and having those qualities made her into a beautiful piece of art.

Hiccup didn't realize that he had been staring at her for a while and that now they both where  now facing each other. Merida reach out her hand but stopped halfway not knowing if he would let her. Hiccup looked at her stretched out hand before him, inches away from his snout. He closed his eyes and met her halfway. He then felt the warmth and delicate of her hand resting in his snout. Merida then took the courtesy to take her other hand and rest it below his cheek. She lean in and rested her head on his snout, closing her eyes, while Hiccup did the same.

This made Hiccup feel at ease and less lonely, it made him feel a little hope spark through him. Moments passed between them, Hiccup only wished was to stay like this a little longer but it wasn't right....this isn't right....he cleared his throat signaling Merida.

"Ahem.....W-we should be getting back." Hiccup stepped back and avoided eye contact with the red headed.

"I guess your right..well lets go." Merida regained her composure as if it was nothing, this made Hiccup a little displeased.

Right...she doesn't see me as a man....to her I'm only a creature with no human feelings...I'm nothing but her friendly beast....I'm no man to her.....

"Hiccup? You ready?" Merida looked at him confused breaking his deep thought. He slightly shook his head a took a breath and releases it through his nose.

"Yeah let's go. Get on."

With that they took flight back to the castle.
