*Trinity's PoV*
I wrapped my jacket around myself and jingled Louis' car keys in my hand as I shut the front door carefully and made my way towards the car. I sighed, tying my hair up in a simple ponytail as I jogged down the steps. I hadn't wanted to get too deep into the discussion about university after having such a trouble-free morning. If I had known he was that set against it, I wouldn't have brought it up in the first place.
I didn't think he would mind the idea. If I'm honest, I thought he would be supportive. I couldn't see why he was dismissing the idea so quickly, but I didn't really want to think about it. I was having a good morning and if I spent too long pondering over it, I would end up over-thinking it and ruining a stress-free morning. Besides, I wasn't even sure what I would study. My grades were high enough that I basically had a free-pick of any course I wanted. However, as I thought about it, there were only two months left until the term started and I had probably missed all the deadlines for course applications, which means that my choice would be very restricted, if I could even get any.
I decided to push the thoughts out of my head and instead focus on the day ahead of me. I realised that I would be seeing Chloe for the first time since I had left her apartment and she had dropped me to Louis'. I hadn't talked to her since, so she was probably wondering what happened between us after she left me there.
The journey was short, reaching my parking spot in record time. I cut the engine and began my walk towards the office, preparing myself to face a probably incredibly nosy Chloe, who would most likely bombard me with one hundred questions about the last twenty-four hours. And, knowing Chloe, there is no way I would be able to avoid answering them.
I took a breath as I climbed the last stair, already dreading the interrogation that lay ahead of me. I walked into the large room, taking the shortest route to my desk and sitting down quickly. I didn't need to look to my right to know that Chloe was already sitting at her desk. She always got in way before me, mainly because she lived across the street.
I turned on my computer and waited for her to begin her assault of questions, but my brows came together when she remained silent, working away on her computer. I kept quiet too, not questioning her apparent lack of interest, and tried to continue on with my own work.
However, soon the curiosity was eating me up inside and I turneed to face Chloe. She didn't acknowledge my stare, only wearing a slight smirk on her lips. It wasn't much, but it gave me enough to gather that she was obtaining amusement from my confusion.
"So you're not gonna ask me any questions?" I hinted, raising my brow as I looked at her carefully.
Her fingers came to rest on her keyboard and she finally turned her head towards me.
"Well, you didn't come back home and you haven't been replying to my calls or messages, so I figured he was keeping you busy," she smirked, winking at me.
My mouth fell opene, but I wasn't in any position to argue. She was right, after all. I realised that I hadn't picked up my phone at all since I had stayed in Louis', I hadn't even brought it to work, and I immediately felt guilty for ignoring Chloe's calls and messages.
"I didn't even think to look at my phone, I'm really sorry," I told her, as we began to type once again, eyes returning to our own respective computer screens.
I heard her breathe out a light laugh and she responded after a moment or two.
"Its okay," she replied, amusement shining through her voice, "You were otherwise occupied I understand. I sure bet you wish I bought you those condoms now, though."
