Chapter 34: Oh shit...

*CC's P.O.V.*

I woke up at around 8 in the morning. I looked at the clock and saw the time.

"Oh shit!" I said, jumping out of bed.

I went to Jade's room and it was empty. I went back to my room and saw a note.

"Hey CC, you were sleeping and I didn't want to bother you at all. Sky takes the bus so I went with him. Can you still pick me up though, I don't like taking the bus. Text me when you get this. Love you, Jade." I read.

I heard Ashley was awake and in the kitchen. I walked to the kitchen with the note.

"Why is the cereal out?" Ash asked.

"Jade must've left it out." I said.

"Oh, yeah. Did you bring her to school?" He asked.

"No, I was sleeping and she didn't wake me. She took the bus with Sky." I said.

"Whose Sky?" He asked, sitting down with a bowl of cereal.

"Her friend, and our neighbor." I said.

"Neighbor? Oh, the kid in the red house, yeah, I've seen him before." He said.

"Yeah, that's him." I said.

I sat down and stared at the note.

"What's that?" Ashley asked.

"Jade left me a note." I said.

He grabbed it and read it.

"Awe, love Jade." He read the last part.

"Yeah." I said, blushing a little.

"You still have a crush on her?" He asked, putting the note down.

"What? No..." I lied.

Ash laughed. He knew that I was lying.

"Okay, a little." I said, confessing.

"That's alright man. Only a couple of years until she's legal... but you have to go through Andy." He said.

"Yeah, I know. I'm just gonna forget about it, not only is it illegal, Andy will kill me. Maybe I'll just get a girlfriend my age." I said.

"Yeah, that'd be fine." Ash said.

He continued to eat his cereal and I texted Jade. I told her I'd pick her up at the end of school and asked if she wanted me to pick up Sky too. I set my phone down and got in the shower and got dressed. I entered the kitchen and Ash was on the phone.

"Okay, we'll be right over. Thanks, bye." He said.

He hung the phone.

"Who was that?" I asked.

He looked nervous and handed me my phone back.

"It was the school." He said, leaving the kitchen to get his shoes.

"Why did the school call?" I asked, still confused.

He grabbed his shoes and sat down to put them on.

"Jade got into a fight." He said.

"Oh shit..." I said.

I started getting my shoes on too. I grabbed my keys and we both got into my truck. I drove to the school and parked. We entered and went to the main office. The principal was there with a big kid.

"Hello, are you here for Jade?" The principal asked.

"Yeah." I said. "Is she okay?"

"Yes, she is at the nurses office right now. I'd like you to come in my office so we can discuss what happened." He said.
