When we make it down the stair case steve stops I stop ahead of him he gives me a look "oh steve"I sigh pulling my best friend into a hug we hand there holding each other he knows the loss I felt all those years ago and like me he never got the life he wanted with the one he loved. At that moment we just stood hugging as best friends.
