I was told to be guarded by Kotaro Fuma.
An Elite Ninja. From The Fuma Clan.
He didn't talk much, but he took his tasks very seriously.
They keep telling me, I'm of Royal lineage, but I paid no mind to it.
I've never met these people In my entire life.
There was:
·Goemon
·Hanzo
·Kotaro
·Sasuke
and
·Saizo
I had no right to argue, so I continued to go along with it.
Day 1:
"Are you hungry?" Kotaro asks.
"No. I'm fine."
"..." He walks away, heading out the door.
*He sure does know how to keep a lively coversation* I think to myself sarcastically.
A few minutes later he comes back, with a bag full of fish and rice.
Placing it on top of the table, he heads into the kitchen.
*What was that about?*
He shuffles into the living room, grasping the sack of food, and placing it in the kitchen.
*Is he trying to cook?* I try to peek closely around the corner, but see nothing. Attempting to lean in a bit closer, the floor creaks.
*Shit!* But Kotaro seems to pay no mind to it.
Halting myself, I lean against the wall, and close my eyes.
A few moments later Kotaro ambles into the living room, handing me a bowl of cooked rice and fish.
"Here." He walks away, clutching his own bowl, eating with me.
Sitting farther away.
*He always eats in that corner. Does he not like me or some thing?* I begin thinking, as I continue to eat my food.
Finally breaking the silence. I ask him if he'd like some tea.
"Okay."
*Okay? Is that a yes?*
I arise from the table, and head to the kitchen, looking for a teapot.
Finding one quickly, i begin to boil the water and leaves.
Strutting into the living room, I sit down, continuing to eat, finally finishing up.
Kotaro had already finished.
*He must've been hungry..*
Trying to break the silence yet again, I speak.
"So, do you have any other tasks?" i question.
"No."
"This is your only one I assume?"
"..."
"Are you bored?"
"..."
I sit there for a moment.
"...okay."
Hearing the water boiling loudly, i run to check it.
"Shit!"
I grab the pot quickly, reacting without thinking I burn my hand. Dropping the pot, spilling hot water over the counters and needless to say, the floor.
Hearing quick footsteps approaching. Kotaro walks over, grabbing my hand.
"You've burned yourself."
"I know.." I state.
He walks out of the room for a minute, coming back with a first aid kit.
Quickly tending to my wound.
After wrapping it carefully, he turns his attention toward the floor and counter, cleaning up the mess I had made.
"I can do that. You don't have to."
"..." He says nothing, continuously cleaning.
Feeling gradually stupid about my mistake, I avert my gaze, gluing my eyes to the floor.
"I'm sorry. Thank you.."
"..."
I sigh, and ramble out the area, unfortunately I hadn't noticed Kotaru watching me leave the room.
*He must've been fed up from all the water on the floor. He was the one who found us this place. I should be more careful..*
He walks into the room, and I quickly open my mouth without thinking.
"Kotaru, i'm really sorry for causing you trouble.."
Casting his eyes in my direction, the bland expression on his face, never seems to change.
"Okay." He muses, coldly.
*Jesus.. Sure. Just walk away, and say okay. That helps.*
I amble into the kitchen. Preparing to make another pot of tea and notice a tiny note on the counter, beside the pot.
Note: If you need help. Ask. -Kotaro.
I chuckle lightly, and fold the note up, slipping it into my kimono.
Attempting to fill the pot once more.
I have a sudden flash of a memory, and drop the pot again.*Ow!* My head throbs.
Kotaro rushes into the kitchen.
"You alright?"
Luckily, I had ascended to my feet.
Glancing in his direction, my lips curve into a small smile.
"Yeah. The pot slipped from my hand."
"Alright.." He utters, stalling. Almost as if he knew I had been lying.
Turning on his heels, he drifts down the hall.*What was that?* I think to myself.
*I won't worry about it.*
I continue, finishing the tea a few moments later.
I approach Kotaru's door, knocking lightly.
"I've made tea and some cake If you'd like any."
I hear no reply.
"It's sitting on the counter whenever you decide."
Silence.
I finally walk away, feeling useless.
That evening I ended up drinking tea and eating tea cakes alone.
"This isn't so bad." I mutter, feeling lonely as I watch the sunset.
After finishing up. I clean my dishes. Wrapping the rest of the tea cakes away, and leaving the tea on shimmer.
Walking to my room, securing the door behind me, removing my kimono, and slipping into bed.
*I wonder how grandfather is doing..* I doze off rather quickly.
This one may be short, So I'm sorry. I hope you enjoy. (:
