What next

My heavy panting indulged the air around me, I had been running for what felt like forever. I still don't know what I was running from, but that repulsive cent of dark magic still hurt my nostrils and my hands were still week from using my magic.
I had left that life behind me, no more hiding from who i really was, everyone knew now what I really was.
'Paddy!' Jenifer yelled. 'Run'
Jenifer was my best friend she knew everything about me everything I was and yet she still believed in me.
I'm Paddy this is who I am, a tomboy teenager who had a whole lot of magic within her. I listened to Jenifer without hesitation and carried on running. I could feel the rumble of commotion that lived behind me, my adrenaline rushed through me even though I was hesitant to keep running my magic flowed through me like a dance giving me the energy to keep running. Jenifer was close behind me, we both ran further into the woods, further into the unknown?
We lay down we were deep enough now to be unseen for a while. I rested my head on the hard rock looking up into the sky, 'what next'.
I could feel my face flood with emotion, the warmth of my tears running down my cheeks, I couldn't rub my eyes as my fingers wouldn't move to wipe away the tiredness in my eyes.

I awoke to Jenifer shaking my shoulder, it was still dark so I had only been sleeping for an hour or so. When I got to my feet I was unsteady at first but once I had the support of Jenifer I was back to sane. I suppose your wondering why your reading this and you don't even know what happened?. Since I was a little girl I always had wondered what was beyond my small village filled with people who didn't know the answer to anything if it wasn't in one of the library books in our dusty minuscule library, what I wondered is what could I become, I knew I was different so did my mum and dad but to fit in I had to be 'normal' but when they died that all changed. Nothing damaging ever happened, no one knew until now. The first thing that seemed out of place was the rain, the rain wouldn't stop clouds formed over our town we were in the middle of a drought the gush of water brought us joy for a brief moment. Then the clouds grew, lightning struck and a dark crest of black fell from the sky. We all stood back in shock and curiosity, i couldn't help myself I stuttered closer to this black image wondering the possibilities. The creature had a burn all Down it's back and it had little hair on its head coming out of its shoulder bones were cut bumps of what looked like wings. As I went to touch it, it jerked out of place, I screamed from fright and once the creature had regained its awareness of its surroundings it looked up at me. Horror impaled my eyes, my heart swallowed on it's self, the trepidation on Jennifer's face struck me. The creature had a face a replica of my face! The town gaped in dread. Jenifer grabbed my shoulder heaving me away from... me. One of the towns men tried to hack away at the beast but before he could a shot of fire came out the palm of my clammy hand, burning his face off. It took me a moment to re-adjust my alarm on what had just happened, I had just used magic which I never knew I had, what I didn't understand is why I used it now? what drive urged me too use it? what was this creature, from another world, so different to ours? What next?
