"Who?" My reaction to the surprising news gets Cici's attention. She mouths "What is he saying?" but Luke continues. "One Direction! Oh come on, Cassie. You know who they are. They want you two to open up. This is a no-brainer. I already said yes to them so you can't back down."

This news is blowing in my face way too fast. Summer tour? we were barely appearing on MTV.

"Um wow." I am literally out of words. "By when do you need an answer?"

"You can't be indecisive about this. Cassie, did you not hear what I said? Is Cici there?"

"Yes, she is." I look at Cici and she arches an eyebrow.

"I wanna talk to her." And so, I give Cici her phone back, making her sit upright.

"Hello?" She says, confusion clear in her voice.

She listens and I watch her eyes widen and I am sure Luke is telling her about One Direction. "Yes! yes! yes!" she repeats, standing up from the chair. It almost seems as if Cici wasn't drowning in pain just minutes ago. Her bright self just got knocked back into her.

"Aha, yes, okay. See you then. Love you." She hangs up and once the phone touches the table, she screams in excitement.

"Cassie! we're going on a tour! A fucking," she emphasizes, "tour!" My eyes continue on the phone. A tour. Summer tour. With a band that is insanely famous.

"Cassie, you have to be excited about this. Think about what we're about to do." She walks over to me and looks straight into my eyes. "Why aren't you excited?" She crosses her arms across her chest.

Why aren't I excited? I don't even know the answer to that. I am simply shocked. No, it isn't going to be our first performance. We had about 40 shows last year. We played at small arenas...maximum a couple of hundreds. The biggest crowd being 500. All to get our names out there. It is beginning to work--starting with the MTV appearance.

But these aren't going to be small performances in front of a couple hundreds. We are talking about thousands! Thousands of people are going to be introduced to our music. For some reason that thought makes me feel bare and I'm suddenly scared.

"Uh, earth to Cassie." I realize I'm dozing off as I stare at the fridge. I'm going to go on a tour with thousands of people in the audience. A sudden chill comes up by spine at the thought. It is really happening. What Cici has hoped for, but is it what I had hoped for? I know I'm blowing it out of proportion. I have to try to see the bright side of this.

Smiling, I say, "We're going on a tour."

Luke arrives an hour later and gives us the basic details. We have to meet with the band and their management next week to finalize everything and sign papers. All that fun stuff. Cici smiles through it all and Luke notices my lack of enthusiasm.

"You know, if you don't want to do this, you just tell me." Cici looks confused at first but realizes he is talking to me. "Oh ignore her. She's been weird about this. It'll hit her once we're actually touring."

"Are you sure? I don't want to force you into anything," he pauses and lookes at Cici, then back at me. "Although, I think this is a really good opportunity." His non-persistent attitude is really nice at a moment like this. I'm glad he isn't pushing it down my throat.

"No, I'm good," is all I can tell him.

"Okay. Also, if you guys do amazing and the crowd and the guys like you, then you'll probably join them for the European leg of the tour." Cici squeals in excitement and I can't help but chuckle at her reaction.

"We're gonna be rich and famous!" Cici exclaims. "Aren't you already rich?" I ask. Cici grew up in a well-maintained family where she didn't really have to worry about any expenses.

"It wouldn't hurt to be richer. And plus, you can finally pay back my dad for your moms messes." She says with a scoff. My eyes widen and Cici notices my reaction.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." I stand up and walk to my room. Cici has the tendency of speaking without thinking. Yes, her comment isn't a big deal, but it still hurts. And it isn't the first time she makes a comment like that. She always has this negative view of my mom.

There is a faint knock on the door and Cici slowly walks in. "I'm really sorry, Cassie." She sits right in front of me as I stare down at my hands. As I shake my head, I say, "No it's okay." Why am I going to make a big deal if this is just typical Cassie. She doesn't mean any harm.

And so, the day goes by. We meet with Mr. Sylvan-part of Notes Record who is not only ours, but Luke's manager too. His daughter, Amelia, is there and Cici explains to her everything. Mr. Sylvan congratulates us and tells us it is going to be great and that we're one step to stardom. But to be honest, all he probably sees is the pay.

Amelia joins us for dinner and I am practically the third wheel. But I don't mind. I am writing songs in my mind at the moment. But I do catch them talking about the members of One Direction. I'm not very familiar with them, so I decide to get at least a bit familiar.

Right when we get home, I go straight to my room and Cici goes to hers. Cici doesn't even mention going out to celebrate, which surprises me a lot, but I think all the excitement wasted her energy.

I change into my pjs, place a pillow on my lap, and then placed my laptop atop it.

I spend almost 2 hours listening to their music and finally getting the names right. Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry.

Their music isn't bad at all. My expectations are right when it comes to their first album but as they progressed, it changed.

I end up falling asleep halfway through "Don't Forget where We Belong."
