the young girl cloaked in rags looked around frantically as she ran with a small group of young children in the midst of madness; hoping they could run away from the brutal reality that they unfortunately had to face in such a young age.
The sky was pure black, as if the thick black smoke ate every star in sight. The only light source provided for them to escape were the flames that were covering the whole forest.
"We're almost...there," the cloaked girl announced, stumbling on her words as everyone was still running. The said small members of the surviving children couldn't do anything but to agree silently, too focused on their survival and strength to run.
but that alone could not save them all
"Imari!"
"NO-----"
sliiiiiiitch-!
"N-no..no nononono...
"Im..Imary..he.......lp....."
".....Imari..."
The little girl trembled over the gruesome sight before her.
A woman that used to be standing tall and gracefully
was now lying on their kitchen floor holding the legs of a cloaked man with a katana soaked in red, half of her body covered in her own blood.
As quickly as she witnessed the scene, she realized why only her mother's torso is covered in blood.
"Mom.....?"
Her mother's legs are gone.
She looked at her child with weak, but pleading eyes. She was holding the cloaked figure's legs from walking up to her daughter.
"Imari...Mari listen to me--COAGGHHH"
The figure stabbed the woman's hands and kicked her lying figure. Already in unbearable pain, she let go of the man's legs
"..must....run"
The cloaked stranger now faced the trembling girl. With his katana soaked with fresh blood, he found a new prey.
The girl, knowing for a fact that she'll die if she doesn't run, tried her hardest to move.
She couldn't.
She couldn't leave.
She couldn't run.
She couldn't leave her mother.
But before the stranger could even have the chance to kill her, a blinding light delayed him to get close.
Using all of her nen to form a delay, she used the last of her strength to scream
"Run..!"
